Yeah, gotta go with this. Castlevania already has all of its classic weapons in the game plus half the enemies looking virtually the same. The only thing missing really would be the music.
Bloodstained on the other hand would be wonderful to add!
EXACTLY.
The game is ALREADY the crossover , call it a homage or a parody but the base-game is clearly referencing castlevania aesthetically and character wise. (along with some other games of course like Mortal Kombat , Saga Frontier , Final fantasy even Pokemon with missingno but the main theme and starting characters are castlevania inspired)
Now maybe they could make a castlevania work , you could have Alucard show up and be "spiderman-pointing-at-spiderman" memeing it up with all the castlevania inspired characters but one of the main jokes of this game is that there are no vampires , none , so what would the castlevania crew do here besides looking like a twins convention ? Go on vacation I guess ?
I think contra was the perfect kind of cross over , totally different game , totally different style but it fit perfectly and the bossfight was designed to feel like a 2d side scroller boss fight when the boss pops out of the "floor" but then your perspective shifts and you see it as the "wall" and you climb up the walls and can fall off the "ceiling" while trying to avoid attacks.
Such great execution on changing the aesthetic seamlessly.
So for those reasons I would be hoping for more original DLC or at the very least interesting crossovers that bring something new to the table, not just "add my favorite character from X game",
