thx for info.
some of the collabs might actually expire at some point.
Because copyrights, laws, contracts.
So it's ok, don't worry.
No, it is good. Because as the official FAQ says, if any collab DLC gets delisted in the future you won't have to worry about impossible to get achievements, and therefore can always get 100% on the achievement list.
Besides, achievements aren't features. They are more like glorified medals or stickers. The only time they are relevant is when they are tied to unlocks (i.e. TF2's Class Milestones), or encourage you to play the game in a different matter to unlock said achievement (do a no-upgrade run, find all secret areas, etc.).
Also, if a product requires achievements to affect sales then something is wrong with the product, IMO. Plenty of actually bad games have a lot of achievements, just saying.
Achievements are a standard feature nowdays, and people really do care about them, enough to buy or not buy content sometimes. I know people who basically play just for them, they choose what to play exclusively with the achievements in mind, like they play a puzzle game and use a walkthrough just to blaze through it and get all the achievements as fast as they can. Believe me, this kind of gamers exist, and If I were one of those people why should I bother buying a DLCs that doesn't add new achievements?
I too feel it's missing something because I'll see the hours go up and no new achievements.
I've read the FAQs and understand what they're saying, but still it feels really off.
Yes I know achievement hunting has been a thing for literal decades, but as someone who plays games for fun, and has also been witness to achievements that are designed to destroy said fun (all Skulls run in Halo, no death run in DS2, etc.) I would prefer to continue seeing them as a novelty and not a necessity for a game's enjoyment.
Besides, what's so "off" about securing the future of an actually complete-able achievement list? There are games out there where you cannot get 100% completion because they shut down the online play or removed DLC that contained said achievements. It's clear Poncle doesn't want that happening to their game, so they chose the safest route possible.
No one is saying you have to like it, but it's well known that many achievement hunters will not play games where you cannot get 100% unlocks, so this is not hurting the game like you think it is.
Please try to add some more.
