In any case nothing is going to truly stream this game perfectly especially near the end of stages. If you haven't watched a stream on twitch of VS before I recommend you do it, the tech difference in video isn't any different. Watch very closely what happens the closer the game gets to the end of a map and things get crazy.
What you'll see is the video quality goes to crap. Has nothing to do with anyone's gpu/cpu though or anything the devs have done themselves on purpose. The problem is there's just so much going on, that video compression to get it to people fast enough doesn't really work. Video compression goes off of the idea of only changing what's really visually changed in a frame and large blocks of similarly colored pixels, and since VS is changing nearly everything with so many things in motion all the time the raw gameplay of it is very difficult to stream when things get nuts.
So I hope the online thing works out later too but there's a reason remote doesn't work that well, haha, but yeah modern video compression is not too hot with it unfortunately.
Like Amars recommended, Parsec is a really fantastic alternative and has typically received better results than Steam Remote Play.
All you would need to do is create an account at https://parsec.app/ and download the software. Once it's installed, you can share a link to your friends to join you.
Hi, I was wondering if you could clarify how exactly to use Parsec to co-op. A friend and I have done it once but it's a lot of trial and error in terms of getting the game to recognize and assign us to our input methods. Which of us should use a controller and which should use keyboard? Should "assign controller to player one" be checked or unchecked? in which order should we connect controllers, start parsec, and start Vampire Survivors in order to get the game to recognize said assigned controllers? Any tips or advice would be very welcome. Thank you
I think it works best for the person running Vampire Survivors to be using the keyboard / mouse and the people connecting to the session to be using the controller. Technically, anyone can use the keyboard, but this is just my personal experience with it.
Remote play can be fickle whether you're using Steam Remote Play or Parsec.
I would:
-launch parsec
-boot vampire survivors
-have your friend plug their controller in and then connect to your session
-assign controllers from there
There's a setting in the Vampire Survivors options menu to assign controller to player one which may also help if you wanted to shift around who is using the controller vs keyboard.
