I found the coffin and unlocked the character, but I can’t buy everything early.

Yep, you can literally run in and out the same door until it happens, it's not linked to using any particular doors

Note, this character can be bugged. If you find her coffin in an empty space, then your game is bugged. Leave it, and return to Astral Stairs and go in and out doors to reset the counter.

What map is this door in?

Astral Stair. I definitely would not have figured out the logic behind it on my own.

Why not? I did.

It's the only map with functioning "doors."

I thought I'd chime in and say, I got to her room, but I did not go through 46 doors, not even close. Not quite sure what i did, but I got to the bottom doors, and went through it over and over, after getting through to the 'dead end' and back, and suddenly was there.

Yes, you found the bugged version that wont save. You need to restart the game.

I think it counts doors from when you started the game, before this was a secret. I didn't go through 46 either I think.

I'm having the same (or at least a similar) problem. I unlocked the character, but it still shows as locked in the character selection menu. However, I can click Confirm/Start and it will still allow me to play as her, so it's not a huge bug. Just a bit confusing.

Are you sure it isn't just her sprite being so dark it might as well be a silhouette?

i found this by accident too. .
i was just trying to complete the astral stair stage and had failed a couple of times and then i went through a door and suddenly was there.
i think it might just keep track of how many doors total across your lifetime and then the 46'th one is just it.

yes, its lifetime doors, not doors in a single run.

I'm experiencing something strange.. twice now, I've gone through the door 46 times, and then ended up in an empty room, floating in a void, with no escape... coffin is marked as being somewhere else. Could be because I'm on inverse? FFS

Nope, you have the bug people have been talking about. Leave the game, shut it down and restart.

Known bug with visual inversion, just disable it.
