But they have a tangential use in maps where you have to survive for x minutes. With them doing no damage, theres no loot to choose between, so you can tab out or leave the pc.
If you wanna do damage as ghost I suggest getting the tarot that deals damage as you heal.
1: Explore/familiarize yourselves with maps at your leisure without fear of death or screen hogging weapons flying everywhere. More important with DLC maps which are more intricate.
2: Weapon/Build tester, to see how weapons and weapon combinations could work without repeated death forcing you to start over.
For Ghost Lino in particular, it's not that they can't do damage, but rather it's harder to do so. It seems standard Might bonuses(Power Up/Spinach/Torrona) don't work, but Arcana effects do. Silent Old Sanctuary and Divine Bloodline both increase might for Lino, allowing normal weapons to work again. Divine Bloodline/Blood Astronomia/Sarabande of Healing/Game Killer can all do damage and kill mobs.
The potential to have fun is there, but they aren't for everyone.
The whole point of the character was to test the players knowledge of Vampire Survivors. It was to question the community as a group and to also problem solve a character that is immortal but also cannot attack enemies.
My personal theory is that Ghost Lino is just a Spectator character. It's like when you play an online game you die. And all you can do is either
A: Quit the game.
B: Spectate and see what happens.
Which is in a sense what Ghost Lino can only do out of the box.
There are ways to beef the character up to a playable state.
Allowing you to experiment with Arcana's, Passives, and weapon combinations.
Granted we do live in the internet era where we can just google, YT, Wiki things.
TBH I still use the Evolution chart on the wiki, knowing full well there is a chart in game.
But doing so on the Wiki allows the game to continue playing in the background enough to know what to aim for next.
"this the equivalent of handing your younger sibling an unplugged NES controller because they want to play a single player game with you".
