I agree for the vast majority of games. Here, however, the achievements are essentially just tracking how much content you unlock . . . thus, they are a natural part of playing the game rather than some weird/illogical thing you have to do as with other games.
Best way to describe it.
In general game progression is fun for casuals and hardened players.
Achievement Hunting is optional with an additional reason to chase that additional dopamine rush.
Anyone can complete the game. But few have performed specific tasks that are on the record in the form of Achievements.
For example: I have played a lot of RPGs most notably "Final Fantasy" I've played the same titles multiple times. To have Achievements. Gives me additional things to focus on and strive / aim for.
I don't think Achievements are a waste of time. You aim for them if you want or don't. I like the additional flair / learning curve they provide. Which they do!
If you are "Anti-Achievement's" then that's fair.
I personally like to feel a little pick-me-up "Here is a Golden Star" for doing something in game that others may have a hard time accomplishing in. Or the amount of investment and dedication it took / takes to earn "Insert Achievement Here"
Some people are Speed Runners for games, Some are Achievement Hunters, some are casuals that just want to complete the game. There are no wrong choices here. At the end of the day it's a personal preference.
I just wanted to share my insight and enjoyment as well as my accomplishment to the community within Vampire Survivors.
I used a website called Exophase. And Steam's version of the game, a total of 4,490. Who are in the 100% club.
I enjoyed the crossover. You really don't have to buy it.
It's not really related to the base game anyways. So you can still play Vamp Survivors just fine without the Amongus DLC.
The price is about the same price of a candy bar. And I like supporting a Game I really enjoy, I have 114 hours in Vampire Survivors.
If the community wants to do the same then who knows we may get more content.
They've been updating the game, and providing additional things to do. Legacy of the Moonspell gave us "Four Seasons" which is pretty darn good if I do say so myself. Especially once evolved.
Point is You don't have to like it.
But to say you wish you can refund the entire game. Is a bit silly.
Fallout 76 launching. And then saying I hate Fallout 76 I wish I can refund every fallout game I own.
Then just don't buy it and keep the game(s) you like. Ya Goober.
