Pentagram not evolving post DLC

Since the DLC I ran into a bug TWICE now where the pentagram just won't evolve when I pick up a chest despite it being maxed out as well as the crown. I literally have nothing else in my inventory that could profit from a chest, but despite that, when running into a chest, I still only get money. Has it got to do with endless mode past minute 30? I couldn't find anything on it. I played both runs with secret characters. Am I missing something or is it a bug?

Well I only ask as I locked Heaven Sword and couldn't evolve Cross in one run I had forgotten I did so.

I've held off on buying the dlc and playing the game again because I've heard things have been particularly buggy since its release, is that the case with this being one of the bugs?

Not sure, but might be. Never had the problem before.

Just evolved the pentagram yesterday. Most likely you're just having a string of very bad luck. Remember, even if all your items are maxed out and you can only take coin bags from level ups, that doesn't mean every single chest that drops will contain weapon evolutions if possible from that point on.

There were times where I've had to go through multiple chests just to evolve a weapon that's ready to evolve even after everything else was already maxed out, which was exactly what happened to me when I tried to evolve the Mille Bolle Blu for the achievement last night; it took several chests before I finally got what I was after.

Okay, that's helpful info, I didn't know it worked that way, it NEVER happened to me that a chest didn't evolve a weapon that was ready for upgrade when everything else was done. Definitely gonna do some research. Thanks for the explanation.
