Luminaire bugged or changed?
As far as i remember the Luminaire weapon used to change xp-gems to random colors (not just blue green and red), but now it no longer does. Is my game buggy or did they change it to fixed colors representing the actual value?

Do you mean Luminaire or Gorgeous Moon? Gorgeous Moon still does change xp of the enemies it kills to yellow and purple. It also collects all the xp on the ground, xp from enemies it did not kill will collect but remain the originally dropped color. Luminaire is a new weapon. I could be mistaken, but I don't think it ever changed the color of xp.

I mean Luminaire the new item. Even the fandom wiki site says
"Every time Luminaire attacks, it increases the value of Experience Gems [...]. It also [...] randomize the color of the experience gems to one of 11 different colors."
Updating gold pickups AND xp-gems. And i remember having a run right after the DLC release where i had a lot of rainbow colored gems lying around for ages. Which should not be possible with Gorgeous Moon since it will collect all gems after some time.
But maybe i just remember things wrong.

It was working as expected for me when I was finishing things off again earlier.

Just to be sure: You had a run with Luminaire and you did NOT have Gorgeous Moon and in that run you saw xp-gems in yellow, turquoise, orange, pink, purple, etc?

Edit: And you also have the game up to date, right?

I was messing around with my hot and cold gemini mix. That run was magic wand, fire rod, guns, birds, bracelet and luminaire with a run using Imelda in the library.
However, as far as the game being up to date, the answer to that in context is both yes and no. That is because this game has a beta version available and you haven't stated if you have opted into it or not. Personally, I have not opted into it.
If you have opted into the beta, then this is obviously not a good comparison and hopefully someone who is in the beta can give you a better answer.

No I'm not using the beta either. Just the public release. I'm just asking that explicit because i tested around with a friend and he also didn't get any rainbow colored xp-gems either.
It's uhm intriguing to say the least how different the game behaves. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ well maybe the game fixes itself at some point.

Yeah, I don't see it do that either. Can't say I had noticed it previously (though also was never looking for it as I didn't read up on the new weapons.) So, idk. If it is supposed to, I would agree it doesn't. I only see blue and red on a run using a single weapon, so it was 100% of my kills.

Hmm, that is interesting.
Maybe it is an arcana thing? The Prismatic Missile does state that it is affected by the first chosen of Twilight Requiem, Jail of Crystal or Heart of Fire. The build that I stated above leans heavily into this since I grab both Jail of Crystal and Heart of Fire, along with Gemini for the extra birds and guns.

No, a single weapon run with no arcana still gets the gems to change colour.

Hmm I just tried a single weapon run with no arcanas no eggs. Only Hyper and Hurry activated. Still no rainbow gems. Maybe its bugged after some unlocks or achievments? Do you have 100% unlock? I have 162/162 Collection 184/184 Unlocks and 16/16 secrets.
Are you missing some of that?

OHH MY F***ING GOD. I feel really dumb now. If you turn "Flashing VFX" off in the options its stops the rainbow effect.
