Evolving hidden weapons?!

This is just something random that happened to me. I was playing as the phoenix who starts with hidden Peachone + Ebony Wings. I wanted to add Vandalier to the mix, so I got both of the birds again as regular weapons. I got Ebony Wings to rank 8 and since I got Peachone later, it was only a very low rank, something between 1 and 3, can't really remember.

Very soon afterwards I got a chest and suddenly, just like that, got Vandalier, despite Peachone not being at rank 8 yet. Did the game somehow mix up the hidden Peachone with my regular one or something?

I've never seen that happen before. Now I'm wondering if it's somehow possible to do something similiar with other characters that have hidden weapons, like Scorej-Oni with his hidden Thunder Ring or Syuuto with his hidden Night Sword.

I guess there's no way to do it, since Vandalier is a combined weapon and it works a little different than the normal evolutions.
