Gatti Amari
Does this skill damage the player? I am trying ti unlock vicious hunger but having a hard time as my health is dropping constantly. Nothing is getting near my char mobs wise, but my health is constantly dropping until i eventually die. Thanks for any advice in advance.

lol yes it does - if you get hit by the cats running around the screen, you'll take damage.

Mercifully the cat fights that break out when a white and black cat collide with each other don't damage you.

I think Gati Amari is supposed to be more of a handicap skill to compensate for the fact that the Witch's +1% projectile speed per level is STUPIDLY broken when paired with moving weapons like Rune Tracer and Bible - it adds an extra layer of difficulty by making the cats nigh-impossible for the player to dodge lol.

Armor will reduce the damage, and you can out-heal it pretty easily using Bloody Tear or Soul Sucker.
Otherwise, you can just juke the cats. They need to actually collide with you to damage you.

I have been running the library over and over and its near impossible to avoid them once you level the skill :(

I've read that increasing luck and "levelling" the cats, not the weapon the cats, lessens the chance that they'll attack you when they touch you.
Yup, increase your luck stat, both from the Meta Luck Powerup and by picking up clover passive as well as the random floor clovers will increase the chances of Catfights lessening the chances individual cats swiping at you.

There are three main ways to not die to them. 1. Outheal it with any method of healing. 2. Use luck to decrease the chance of getting hit. Both of these have been mentioned. What hasn't been mentioned is 3. Having the cats pick up floor chickens. This permanently increases both their attack and their "chance", their rng stat. Even with default luck, if the cats eat 25 chickens, their chance is raised high enough that the RNG of them hitting you can't succeed; with extra luck, you don't need as many chickens. I would recommend keeping Gatti's level (and thus the amount and speed of the cats) low until they feed on a few chickens.

Cats are one of the strongest weapons in the game. At level 1 they suck and hurt you. Once you get it to like level 5 they are decent and the damage they do to you isnt really noticeable anymore. Once its 8 your natural regen will take care of it.

Meh, it depends.

I've had really long runs where the cats start kicking my *** after an hour or so while I'm afk gold farming. If their area of effect and speed is big enough they can just start smacking you constantly even with high luck.

Naturally I learned my lesson not to take Gemini when I'm doing afk gold farming, since even after you upgrade to vicious hunger, gemini keeps cats running around that will really **** you up if you lack regen.

The real trick to Gatti Amari is the same trick to real cats: keep them well fed, and they'll love you to bits.

What this means is you have to go out of your way to play the way Gatti Amari wants you to play, and not try to fit it into other kinds of builds. Building for Area and Duration, while also increasing your luck and feeding the cats Floor Chickens turns them into a cloud of cartoonish disaster. The damage on scuffle clouds is truly absurd and with enough of the subsequent necessary stats and chicken eaten, you can stand still and watch the cats deal with EVERYTHING. All you need to do is prep yourself with some armor, high regen or high base health.

Add Gemini for some much needed spice.
