Unlocking Toastie....on Switch.

So, it's Down + Enter on Steam...but on Switch? I've looked everywhere, I tried it a few times, no luck at all. (every time I've searched it just takes me to guides referring to the Steam version)

Probably Down and +. It's a reference to Mortal Kombat where it's down and start. Since the Switch has a + button instead of a start button, I think that's what you press.

If that fails... uh... press down + all buttons and hope for the best?

Yeah I tried down and + and it just pauses the game. Even tried A and, nothing. also, do I have to play as Exdash or can I just use whoever? Exdash sucks. lol

Does it have to be pressed at the same exact time? Or down and quickly + right after? Never had any trouble with this before, then again on Steam I think I bugged it and the little ghost guy stayed on the screen until I pressed the buttons. xD

I think you just need to have Exdash unlocked, but that it doesn't actually matter who you use.

I looked up how people did it on Xbox. Some folks say they did it with Down + A. On the Switch the positions of buttons are reversed, so... it could be Down + B instead. Depends on whether or not the functions of the buttons have also switched. I do have Exdash, I'll see if I can get it.

Well, I tried both A and B and got neither of them to work. Haven't been able to find anything from someone who managed to get it to work on the Switch version. I'll give it a few more attempts to be certain, but if not I'll just resort to the cheat.

Oki, yeah no luck here either, also it seems I can only get the little ghost image to appear after taking down a non-red reaper if I'm playing as Exdash. Tried other characters and took down a reaper and never got anything. >.<

Best method for me is to use that secret character who starts with the knives on the Dairy Plant. The bone level has a 100% spawn chance, but also requires a pretty much fully upgraded or evolved pentagram and I don't get the image to appear in that level for some reason.

Dairy Plant with that knife guy is only 30% for the green reaper spawn, but it's easy since you can just use a minecart to oneshot the reaper. And you don't need anything so I just restrict weapons to 2 and get a bible as a 2nd weapon to protect me. Then I just wait to see if the ghost spawns at 8 or 12 minutes. No need to level up anything specifically. Wing could be nice to outrun the reaper if you happen to miss a cart once. For the rest just get whatever and wait till potential spawn. Reset after 12 minutes have passed and nothing spawned (but in actuality it's 6 minutes since hurry mode).

I looked online, and it seems to be Down ON THE D-PAD + A.
Everyone is saying "down" but no mention of it being on the d-pad.

Which... makes sense. I play it on the analog stick, but on the computer it has to be on the arrow keys even if you play it on wasd.

I can confirm that D-pad Down + A does work, I have unlocked Toastie on the Switch this way. I can also confirm that as long as you have Exdash unlocked, the character you use to kill a non-red reaper does not matter. If anyone's having trouble with the timing, I highly recommend playing on Inverse Inlaid Library, going right until you find The Trickster, and kill it. Toastie should appear on screen for much longer than normal, giving you plenty of time to do the input.
