Secrets: Uppercut a non-red reaper

I unlocked Exdash randomly / via picking clovers whilst gold farming. Got 2 secrets left, the uppercut and the one just after. I looked up the uppercut thing & I'm apparently supposed to be seeing a lil' purple ghost in the corner after non-red reaper kills, and press down+ enter - MK1 reference. However I've done the boss rash twice now & have not seen any such thing. I mashed down + enter like a maniac too, when those reapers popped, so even if I somehow didn't notice the lil' ghost, I'd have pressed the key combo anyway. What am I missing / does someone have a foolproof method? Do the reapers in boss rash not count? Cheers.

Huh, seems the reapers in Boss Rash might not count then.

In Bone Zone at minute 10 a green reaper is guaranteed to spawn and a blue one later as well. Kill them with either Victory Sword or Gorgeous Moon. I suggest pressing the down arrow and repeatedly spamming Enter during this, that pretty much guarantees that you'll get it.

Alternatively you can go to Dairy Plant. A green reaper has a chance to spawn at minute 0 (1%), minute 8 (30%) and minute 12 (30%). The higher your luck stat the lower the chance of him spawning. In this map you can also use a Rosetta and the minecarts to kill green boi, I suggest to enable hurry mode, that way you only need to do 6 minute runs tops to know if you'll get him to spawn. Also, he can only spawn once per run so if you miss the input window you have to reset immediately.

As for the secret after that, just look it up on the wiki once you have Toasty unlocked, you won't figure it out on your own as it's a reference to a secret in the Ultima series but I won't spoil it for you here just in case you want to try it on your own.

Good thing I missed this paragraph in the wiki :

As a prerequisite, you will need to cast a spell that unlocks Exdash. You will not be able to unlock Toastie if you unlocked Exdash by collecting Little Clover.

I guarantee this is false as I have never entered a single code.
Exdash just became available after a gold run, had to be a random clover.
Uppercut for Toastie works fine, no matter how you unlocked Exdash.

I'll second that. Only just had this happen about 2 weeks ago and decided to try despite what the wiki said.

Glad to know that you can still unlock Toastie without inputing the spell. I thought it was weird that it was dependant on the unlocking method...
