the game will completely stop giving me the upgrades i need to evolve my weapons... why is this happening? at this point i cant evolve or combine any more weapons bc it just wont give me the option to do so. it gives me every other item BUT the ones i need.

That's why some of the permanent upgrades are Reroll, Skip, and Banish.
You may want to unlock those as early as possible.

Random is just random.
You can also get a run where you get what you want on every level-up.

i do have reroll skip and banish unlocked, but even with these options, after a while it just stops giving me the options i need. its very odd, its only happening now, it never happened the first few times i played

unlock reroll skip and banish. they help thin out the item pool in any run. I swear the game sometimes just refuses to give me Peachone and Ebony Wings altogether until I get past 30+ levels

like i said above, i already have all of those unlocked
the game just refuses to give me enough to upgrade the weapons i want to upgrade even when i banish a bunch of stuff and spend all my rerolls

Even I was never lucky to get the upgrades I needed but oh well.

the game just refuses to give me enough to upgrade the weapons i want to upgrade even when i banish a bunch of stuff and spend all my rerolls

That's RNG for ya. This is also why I NEVER go for the birds honestly. They're one of the hardest pairings to get and ultimately not worth it in my opinion aside from doing them once for the unlock. After that? NEVER again.

whats funny is, i have managed to get both birds and combine them like 2 or 3 times, yet the game just wont let me upgrade song of mana and gatti amari lol

Wanna do Gatti? Take the character that has Gatti, go to the library stage, and go right.

Wanna do Song of Mana? Same, choose the character, and go to the Gardens, and go up and right. Should be pretty simple when you have guaranteed weapon and the secondaries are on the stage.

That sounds like your game is bugged, as chicken or coins should only happen once everything is upgraded, unless you choose weapons then banish them (the level indicator would be red if that's what's happened)

Would try verifying your files, reinstalling, and if that doesn't work, making a bug report.

no, i dont even have seal unlocked yet

There is a stat in the save file called 'beginner's luck'. No idea what it's for, mine's at 6. Everything except legitimately unlocking Arcanas is done.

Sounds either bugged, or you just don't have the right combinations, but assuming you do then yeah, I really have no idea what could be the issue. If you don't have seal, and assuming you aren't accidentally banishing all of your equipped items so as to not be able to finish upgrading them, then you might want to try verifying your game files or reinstalling the game. Either way, never have heard of this issue before.
