Skull O'Maniac / Curse Upgrade question

Does the Skull still spawn as an upgrade option after maxing "Curse" in the upgrade tab?
Or are they not related at all? I am aware that skull is quite a rare spawn but I've done like 20 runs and no luck getting for my Song of Mana.

They both affect the same stat, so they are related in that sense. Maxing the power-up does not affect the skull spawn rate, though, it has to do with the rarity rating of the item and how many items are in the pool.
If you are just trying to get credit for evolving Song of Mana, you could try a level where the Skull is a field item (like Mad Forest).

I see, thank you for the quick response, I'm just trying to finish Stage 4 with SoM (I could just play something else but I like the weapon in this stage, it just fits. I guess I'll just keep on looking for the skull.
