Whats the reason for the map list on character selection?

whats the reason for the map list on character selection?
I havent played the game for ages so i was looking back at it to do some more unlocks/collection/achievements, and when i opened the char selection it shows a list of all the maps.

Now i was sure that i completed more of the maps with specific characters then it shows so i wasnt sure what the idea behind it was and if there was an achievement or an unlock behind it when you would complete all the maps with each and every char.

(tried looking for more info but couldnt find any so thats why im asking)

It doesn't do anything in of itself, it's something for completionists to fill out once they've gotten all the achievements.
