Holy hell the "bottom of gallo tower" secret.

It literally took me 30 min of doing nothing but walking down that stage until I FINALLY found what's down there, and when I did there wasn't enough time left to kill it to get the unlock.
Did it REALLY need to be that long of a distance?

Edit: Now that I looked it up I know what you meant by Leda and I then have to agree that it doesn't take that long, but people who don't know who and what Leda is, will not know what you're talking about.

Ok so I looked it up (instead of you know saying what we'd have to do those who got it have to ridicule people), and you don't have to reach the bottom of the tower, but you encounter the secret boss after a while. I walked past her, because I thought it's just a special enemy like you encounter constantly.
But no, it's the big purple ball thingie with a redhead girl torso at the side. It's like a spider-woman only that it's not a spider but a ball.
So now I'll be able to get the secret.

If you're not talking about Leda, I don't know what you are talking about. AFAIK, there's no secrets further south than Leda.

That IS THE POINT. there is nothing further south than Leda, so if you don't know what she is you will walk past her and not know why nothing happens.

That is a fair point. The secret calling it "the bottom of Gallo Tower" is misleading, since the stage will go on infinitely down past where Leda is. It would be a bit more helpful if it said "far down Gallo Tower" so people didn't assume that there was actually a bottom to hit.

I very much assumed this and failed to get this unlock several times until I read this thread. If you keep going down far enough, the darkness and increased enemy speed means you can't even tell what you killed before you killed it. I kept wondering what I was meant to be looking for.

Ironically that same darkness lifts as soon as you actually kill Leda. The prompt should absolutely be clearer

EDIT - especially since there are further bosses south of Leda. There's a big guy in armour and reappearance of the Big Crab & Blue Reaper

The big crab and blue reaper are time based, not distance based afaik.

Thanks I was going down for 40min with queen sigma (pretty fast character) and wings and was wondering why I wasn't hitting the bottom of the map. got 400k kills on the way there

That's really frustrating, spent an hour on 2 runs trying to find the bottom of the tower. First I spent 8 mins with down constantly pushed after I evolved all my weapons and could do that. Nothing. Killed a crab and reaper but never hit the bottom so I used red death on hyper for the speed and have been hauling ass down and there's nothing.

Now I read this thread and there was a boss somewhere I missed in all of the darkness? That really sucks.

I just did this side quest and ran past Leda the first time. Hopefully the info below helps others to avoid that.

With Red Death, hyper mode, Mad Grove (VIII), no wings and taking it a bit slow to level up, it took 4:30 for the music to end. Then it took another 2 minutes of going down while searching thoroughly to reach Leda. Also, the runes left of the tower supposedly change to I AM ALIVE when you are close to Leda (had already left Gallo Tower for the main menu when I read this so can't confirm).

RIP, you overshot and missed Leda in the darkness. Same thing happened to me.
THAT is the frustrating aspect imo, you can easily miss Leda and he does not seem to teleport to chase you like everything else would.
