Report a translation problem
The game is balanced with the assumption that all of the checkboxes at the bottom of the level selector would be turned off.
The knife for example was pretty meh before arcanas were introduced, Now though if you take "Slash" and evolve it the weapon will chew through pretty much anything pretty quick.
Some Arcanas also enable builds that otherwise wouldn't be possible. Like there's one card that's specificity designed to enhance single weapon runs which is required for a few unlocks.
If you don't like what they bring to the game you can always disable them if you want.
If arcanas feel too strong its kinda up to you to disable them. Or only buy certain ones. Or use a weak character. Or only use 1 weapon. There's ways of making the game harder.
