I think most people play exslusively Hyper, once they unlock it.
Once you get used to the faster pace, you will never be able to play slowmode again.

I assume it's like Turbo Mode in Devil May Cry. Once you use it you will NEVER go back. I haven't unlocked it as I'm still new to the game. It's amazing and worth way more than $4 for the amount of content.

Definitely worth the money, this developer's a real gem. Also to answer OP's question, it's a preference thing. Technically the difficulty goes up cuz' mobs are faster (and we all know what that means come one of those waves where unless your DPS is up to par there's literally nowhere to go cuz' you're surrounded 24/7), but realistically, it's just faster gameplay.

Some character classes and/or stages can be difficult to play, so you may want to turn it off for those depending on your stat upgrades.

Bone Zone and Boss Rush can be quite challenging especially if you dont have an optimized build.
