Checkmarks to the right on character selection screen?

What does the list of boxes with stages names to the right of the character selection screen mean? I somehow got one on Krochi for the Inlaid Library but I don't know how I did.

How do you "clear a stage"? Do you get anything for clearing them all?

Clearing a stage is completing a 30+ minute run (Or 15+ if you are HYPER) with that character, up to Death coming to end your run.

You unlock stuff by completing stages; but I don't know if there's a reward for beating each stage with each character. It's more for completion tracking for the individual right now I think.

You don't need to get all of the checks *at the moment*, but who's to say whether that won't be something for an unlock in a few updates time?

Mine is empty even though I completed the games so many times during the beta. Is there no backwards compatibility on completing the stages?

It's tracked by character (so make sure you check all of your characters), and the bonus stages with the 15 minute limits will not count unless you managed to get to 30 minutes on them (the tracker is ignoring the stage's time limit for some reason). You can use the relic that lets you run a run endlessly to play each stage to 30 minutes and bypass that, though.

I have only the Inlaid Library for 1 character even though I have completed it with a lot of characters until the 30 minutes. All other checkboxes are empty.
It is sad but it is not a big deal.
