Can you beat a level?

I got over level 70 with a character in the library, and I maxed out all my weapons. But the mobs still became so overwhelming that I died. Can you beat a level, or do the mobs just always get harder until you die?

Its quite easy to complete, I won't say what the win criteria is, as that will be a spoiler since you're new. However the more you play, unlock new characters, new items, and power up items, it will get easier and more manageable.

Standard levels last 30 minutes get better weapons and synergies.

It literally says on level select menu how long to beat.

It only seems that way when you start playing the game. But after unlocking things with coins and evolving weapons, it becomes easier to beat levels. Also with discovering which weapons give good synergy.

It get easier when you learn which items combine with which weapons to unlock the evolved versions of said weapon. And then when you progress further you can unlock limit break that lets you upgrade weapons passed their max level. Also unlocking certain new characters will make their signature weapons available to find for all characters. Just keep playing and unlocking stuff and soon you will be making builds that just destroy everything. :-)

If you just arrived library, there are some weapons that are extremely strong there.

Mortaccio is an amazing early game character, and his bone is strong against enemys stacked together.

Garlic/Soul stealer. Will allow you to fastly level up and keep your life high.

Unholy vespers/King's bible, will deal all the damage you need, that is the stronges early game weapon. The enemys who get past the bible will get stucked on bones bouncing and garlic damage.

Phierragi/PDT & ETS, is almost a must to beat basically everything. If you didn't unlocked it yet, you can always relly on blood thyrst.

Because of the number and speed of the enemys, i don't actually recommend Pentagram/Gorgeous moon in library. Same for magic wand, since it only hit 1 enemy, and you have thousands comming.

Runetracer/No future, is an amazing choice, but the build is hard and random. Once you get it done, enemys won't get close to you.

Infinity edge/Dagger is an optional choice that allow you to keep moving in 1 direction, what will prevent enemys to surround you. Also an amazing pair with La borra/Santa water.

Another good pair would be Heaven sword/Cross and Inferno/Fire wand. While sword keep enemys away, inferno can anihilate then.

Birds are awesome, but in end game. At early game they consume to many levels to get usefull, and it can kill you because they are not good in first levels.

Thunder loop/Thunder ring, is an amazing item, but slow. The good part of it, the high AOE damage, but is random, poor at early game and don't strike fast enough. In maps with high number and speed enemys, you need weapons that can protect your surroundings, so it is not a good choice either.

Once you hit a certain number of golden eggs, the game becomes ridiculous.
