Am I the only one that hates the secrets menu?
It's basically just another list of unlocks, but frustratingly vague. Just tell me what I need to do to unlock stuff.

That would defeat the purpose of them being secret. The secrets didn't even used to have a menu, but people complained so they added the hints.

That's the thing though, why even have secrets? I'm not trying to solve a mystery here, I just want to kill monsters. Why not just make them normal unlockables?

Yes, you're the only one.

They are normal unlockables. The secret menu is there for people who want to unlock any of them instantly and abnormally, like me.

Yeah, that's cool. It's the vagueness of how to unlock them normally that bugs me.

I get that. All secrets are on the wiki, though, if you want to check: https://vampire-survivors.fandom.com/wiki/Spell

everyone has a different definition of fun, and the small depth that the plentiful unlocks offer is the main driving factor for a lot of people after the first hour mark. unlocks, achievements, secrets, lore, puzzles—all tangental to gameplay.

if you want to play the game your way then play it your way. go look up how to unlock everything, download a 100% save, modify the game in unintended ways. but deriding the mechanic that keeps the game interesting past its gameplay for some people (I would hazard many people) is pretty silly.

Because it's a tradition in video games. Games have had secrets and easter eggs since there have been video games.
