How to reset data?
I haven't played this game in a while and feel like playing from zero for version 1.0. I've tried deleting save files and data with cloud saving off but that hasn't worked. Any way to do it on 1.0?

Edit:

1. Uninstall Vampire Survivors.
2. Disable Steam Cloud in the game's properties.
3. Go to Offline Mode.
4. Delete the Vampire Survivors folder from Steam's steamapps folder.
5. Delete all Vampire Survivor related folders in Users/<user>/AppData/Roaming.
6. Reinstall the game.
7. Once the game's data's reset, close the game and turn Steam Cloud on again.
8. Start the game, and once prompted, have the save data load locally instead of the cloud, overwriting the save.

I haven't wanted to nuke my save, but if I were trying it, the first thing I'd try is using Windows file security to remove ALL read/write permissions from the cloud save file... Should make the game unable to read from or write to it, which will either cause it to crash spectacularly, give up and make a new save, or download the cloud save to a different filename, depending on how the game is coded. Locking the entire save folder should block the third possibility, if it turns out to be coded with error handling that robust.

I would like to start over too, but since the dev lost a save file as kid noone is allowed to delete the save files of the game he made.

play it on gamepass. lol
It's somewhat difficult to do so, but in theory should be possible if you trudge through files.
First obliterate or move/backup all the stuff listed in the save data recovery guide. Then do so with the C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Roaming\Vampire_Survivors folders. Then if cloud save is off in the steam game settings you should be able to start from scratch (might also require reinstalling the game depending on what files you delete).

Didn't worked for me:steamfacepalm:. I deleted all data related to game from PC, switched off cloud sync, deleted and reinstalled the game and.... it miraculously load my save. It's kinda impressive, really:steamthumbsup:

Alright sweet.

i think there needs to be a 6.5 to load/run the game so it can create a "newer" save file than they one stored in the cloud, which will prompt you to pick one.

If you have no local save data (or the cloud data is newer) a lot of games won't even give you the choice they'll just assume old = bad and proceed to overwrite.
Hey everyone. If this method didn't work for you, try out my guide and see if that helps you. As it turns out, steam has its own "hidden" savefile in another location which is the actual one the game loads i found out.

I know it's been a while since this post was made but, as a note you just have to press the account cloak in settings 7 times to have the delete save button appear. (admittedly i feel this is still a bit obtuse but at least it's there now)

Thanks regardless, never too late for good advice! I did find this answer from a dev somewhere in the forms a while back though.
I did a account reset of VS early in its lifecycle. Now? Definitely -never- again. Just too much content to chew through now. Thankfully adventures is there for if you get curious about wanting to feel the struggle again.
