It is because I don't even bother to open the chests, it's very time consuming, and also I am playing as Antonio.
The gold is from automatic pickups with Attract Orb while standing still only. I only open chests that hit my character and make the game paused.
This is me standing still... Millions of gold per few seconds... You're doing something very wrong... I don't open chests either
To OP: You can manually quit the game by pausing, selecting "Options" then "Quit". I don't know what force closing the window will do to the savefile.
My approach for long runs has been to use Il Molise as the level, since the enemies don't move and therefore will never drop a chest on you. Haven't played a level nearly as long as you have, though.
Do you think a guide for this is of any interest? I have only played the games for 2 days so I don’t know whether this kind of contents is something players of this game would try to find.
@Sishiya Thanks for showing me how to quit the game from the menu. Sooner or later I’d have to end this run, it is getting tedious, even suiciding is not possible because if I try to walk into enemies I’d be walking into hundreds of chests the moment I hit the chest wall created by the arcana, and I’d have one 2 minutes to die while having so much damage negation and life leech, and I have too many revives bought from the merchant, it would be very time-consuming if not to say impossible.
I think the last thing I will try before ending this run is suiciding and record that to see if it is possible and how long it would take (if it’s too long I’d just give up).
Well, fun game! It’s been two years since I’ve played anything as fun as this (since Hades and Disco Elysium).
Have fun everyone! Bon appetite!
That said, I'm sure newer players might be interested in such a guide, or maybe a Zero Egg Endless Bone Zone run? I'm not sure how far it could go, but that might be content fodder for your stream. Best of luck!
Thank you for your advice, I found killing Death quite easy, and this Endless Run I am doing is eggless (except for 4 eggs that dropped because I picked items for the evolved Laurel and the 2 passive rings).
However, it seems Endless mode on Map 1 is quite trivial to experienced players? I still have a lot to unlock in this game, as I said I have played for only 2 days. I will end the stream later and have some rest before getting back to the game to at least unlock everything for a sense of completeness.
Do you know if the achievements for the Game Pass version and the Steam versions are different? If they are, I’ll buy both, to look for challenges to complete.
If this game has save slots for different profiles it would be even more awesome. Starting over fresh is so much fun, I’d already did it once.
Bummer. A bit after min 2559 (the stream on Twitch is behind, hence the time stamp) the game finally reached it limits and became a white screen.
I checked Task Manager, it's still there in memory but no longer had CPU usage. It didn't crash but no longer running.
SIGH! So Endless Mode has a limit anyways, I'm not sure which.
Another issue I noticed is that when the game window is not being focus (it was like an idle game so I just leave it there and do other things), the clock runs ways slower (you can see this in the video on my Twitch stream) which is unintended and should be fixed, the frame-rate also drops dramatically and it is almost a slide show. When I click the game windows again these two issue reverts to almost normal, the clock was running as it should again, but I still experienced some stutter in animation now and then, perhaps because of too much happening at the same time.
At it's final moment, the game was using about 3GB of RAM and 30%+ of my CPU (12100f).
Well, that's about it! Cheers to a happy fail (or success reaching game limit) Tada!

I would love to have this for chests. Currently doing an endless run and have the card that pulls things to my character. I have so many chests on screen that they got pulled onto my character and I have been on a loop of opening chests and skipping the animation for 5 in game minutes (15mins irl) I guess thats what i get for not touching any chests from minute 24 to 172
