Capella Magna is just too damn hard.
I am struggling to get to level 20 by 10 minutes in and really don't survive much longer than that. the enemies are too touch and sparse at first to zoop up the levels. The few times I have got to the 10 minute mark and maybe reached level 20, it has usually been by finding crown.

What hero are you supposed to use and what weapons to beat this? Been trying with the axe thrower character but thats just completely not working.

Axe sucks as a starter.

when i did capella i used the mask of the red death, but i think pugnala should be good.
Refund all your Meta Powerups and repurchase them again, except this time AVOID curse, that's most likely your problem.

Don't have either of those items though.

No it's not that it's the same problem as bone zone. The enemies ramp up in toughness and down in density too fast, to the point where even in hyper mode, it's hard to get to the mid way mark and be over level 25 and eventually you are just trying to run for the gaps. Not doing enough damage until you eventually die.

Someone said that using Disco of gold makes bone zone easier because you get your health back, but that only prolongs the inevitable. The enemies only start increasing in density after they have surpassed your ability to deal with them.

If Bone Zone and Capella Magna are giving you a hard time it only means you need to "git gud", just kidding. But you do need to unlock more stuff and characters as other characters have better stats and bonuses you can take advantage of in tougher situations. Of the two characters SPedro99 suggested you try using, Pugnala is the easier to unlock first.

Here's a 4 weapon combo that rarely failed me, Can match it up with any other 2 and it still works for me.

Lightning ring + Duplicator for their evolution
King Bible + Spellbinder
Garlic + Pummarola
Santa Water + Attractorb

Usually I would use with those Runetracer and their passive and the Axe is nice as well cause its passive for evolution enhances 3 of the previous 4 area's of effect. Pretty much take half the screen when all put together and mostly only bosses can get thru that wall of death.

Sir, answer to your problem is Yellow Sign. Look it up. After you take it, the game get easier, you gain access to ultimate combos. One of those combo can kill the fully upgraded ending reaper within half a minute. And i second what Talgoth said. There are 2 specific builds i doing according of character i choose. Offensive attack build(runetracer, cross, magic wand, fire wand, maybe axe and knife) and defensive aural build(garlic, king bible, santa water, song of mana, whip). Lightning ring and dual guns can be used for both builds as unevolved guns are good for offensive build and phieraggi looks more like aura after the evolution. With any of those builds you can't lose. Of course, the character choice plays role aswell. Don't choose too slow character. And turn off any curse, have high luck.

I made it to red death with Pugnala Provola the lady you get from the mad forest coffin.
She good on that map since you start with both guns and Tiragisú is on the map (allowing you get it as a 7th item) for upgrading them into Phieraggi.

Get clock and laurel and garlic/bible and your laughing.
Oh and avoid anything that buffs mobs like curse.

What Arcanas are you using? They can make or break a build. If you don't have arcanas yet I recommend looking up the galaxy map so you can start finding all the artifacts/relics then start card hunting.

iirc, the first time i beat capella i was messing around with Christine as she has the highest base cdr of all the early characters

Try unlocking Arcana

One good combo is Arca and Heart of Fire with Hellfire and Waltz of Pearls

You need to be pretty careful with what weapons and passives you're taking in order to keep up on this map. Try to pick more offensive options and avoid choosing too many weapons that take a long time to become useful. Axe is difficult to start with, so avoid taking it as one of your first few weapons. Avoid peachone/ebony wings altogether, and I don't recommend taking whip or cross unless you're using arcana that make them better. Pentagram is also one I avoid, and laurel+lancet should never be chosen unless going for crimson shroud/infinite corridor.

As for what you SHOULD take... Obviously, try to evolve all of the weapons you take. Passives like spinach and empty tome increase your offensive output substantially, try to work one or both into your build (and their weapons are pretty decent, too). Duplicator is a must-take whenever it shows up, and there's a free one on the map. Santa water's evolution is FANTASTIC, I highly recommend going for it. Guns are really good as well, and the free tiragisu makes evolving them easy. Garlic can be very useful for helping you survive, but you have to be a little careful because it's not very powerful and you'll need strong offenses elsewhere to make up for it. Runetracer and lightning ring have nice evos IMO, though their targeting is random.

For characters, try to pick someone with good offensive bonuses. Pugnala gains 1% might per level and starts with both guns, so she's a fantastic pick if you want to unlock her. For characters you probably have already, any of the ones that get additional projectiles every 20 levels are very strong. I'm also partial to Arca for his cooldown reduction and starting with fire wand makes picking up spinach a no-brainer. Porta is also fun for the free area boost working really well with stuff like santa water and garlic.

Also, a bit of general advice...try to only take 2-3 weapons early on and focus on leveling those before you take more. Prioritize weapon upgrades over passives as well (except for duplicator).

Sounds like you need to focus on unlocking more characters and items imo.

Do you have all your powerups? What arcana are you starting with?

Edit: Here's an example run I did. Note: Bracer was a misclick, should have been attract orb.
