how do I kill that bone ball in bone zone? bad game design?

im not even getting indication that im doing damage? i know im new to the game, but have put about 30 hours in. what the heck am i doing wrong or is this bad game design?

Was fairly easy, get the Arcana where you get +20% might for every weaponslot un-used and just have at it, with 1 weapon! Leda / Death.. no problem

You can kill it without Leda or any of the other super secret characters, no golden eggs either. I turned off my curse in the Powerups menu then went with Pugnala with egg bonuses disabled. Grabbed Gold Fever arcana so I could heal of course, most of the weapons I had were just whatever came up. Focus on leveling up Pugnala's guns so at the 10 minute mark you can get the evolution chest, grab Awake to boost Phiraggi some more then go chase after the Bone Ball. Once I caught up with the ball, I took advantage of the weapons I'd grabbed and then stood in the ball's path to prevent it from running over skeletons to get any stronger, it died quite fast. It's really not too hard to kill the Bone Ball, just takes some patience!

It's really easy to kill. Just keep hitting it until it's dead. I had no problem with it at all.

I was at level 10 and I just shot it with guns and a blood tear until it was dead. I used Antonio as my starting character. Id didn't grow the whole time that I fought it.

Leda is unlockable without it, just that the scroll gives you a hint on how to do it. Leda predates the item.

I do agree that suggested solutions should only involve non-secret things.

To whit: crimson shroud + infinite corridor.

Just got it -
Pugnala, with Awake tarot. Phierragi, knives, Bible, wand, ring, and santa water. Some of them were evolved, like the knives, but not all were, so limit break isn't necessary. Zero eggs. Spent about fifteen minutes just leveling as much as I could before going down and catching it. Nothing here is super secret or requires anything crazy. Just needs a good setup.

I wish I wasn't too lazy to find another thread and copy paste what I said there.
- The Katamari Bone does not grow without hitting enemies. It will not hit enemies if you do not bring enemies to it. You have as much prep time as you need, but attempting to confront it after the first few minutes means it will start growing quickly on larger waves when you begin your attack.
- There are many low level options, mentioned through the thread, that can kill it quickly and easily.
- Failing that, Infinite Corridor + optional Crimson Shroud should do the trick as well since it will eat Reapers and thus you should have unlimited time to kill it post-30min if you must. Crimson Shroud letting you face tank it means you can keep it onscreen easily too.

Game Killer Arcana cheese with Ambrojoe and Arca (The -90% cooldown one) are also very potent, on top of the obvious choices like Leda, Red Death, Minnah, Gains, etc with Silent Old Sanctuary and only 1 weapon.

Sadly, you cannot run it over White Hand for fun, it will despawn if you kill a Reaper with Shroud/Corridor. You can run it over the Merchant by physically pushing it northward with your face, but it also obviously doesn't interact with the Merchant.

I get you're frustrated OP, but the proper advice was given before the sea of people that weren't reading what was already suggested. Knockback and AoE so it can't keep rolling and can't suck up more bones.

Rage uninstalls are not the answer.

It is not a bad game design. I've easily killed it without any guide on the google.
I've picked a random char, get leveled up to 30 or 40 then rushed to the skeleton ball.

Mostly likely you have lack of movement speed and bad combo desicion.

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over... Imagine wasting 30 hours over and over shooting at the ball and not thinking... maybe I should use a stronger weapon. After Pug and Gainz failed me, went with Infinite Corridor on my 3rd try and took it out no problem.

I think the ball was really interesting as I noticed it absorbed dropped chests but even more surprising was that it even absorbed a Red Reaper. Appreciate the creativity from the dev and all the secrets he puts into the game for us more curious and patient fans to discover.
