Looks like you just started. It's a roguelike so you're going to fail until you become powerful. But it will happen. Just keep going into matches with the goal of completing achievements and keep unlocking things in your powerups. There is a buy order that makes the power ups cheaper. Buy the more expensive thing you want first. But you won't be able to max things until later.

Early on in saves, Mortaccio is very powerful and easy to unlock by killing skeletons in Forest.

Not true anymore, that was changed a number of patches ago. Buy upgrades in any order you want.

Focus on unlocking everything & doing achievements. You'll get gold along the way.

Then it's a matter of getting Big Trousers to 2000 gold eggs or just using queen sigma.

Unlock Quuen Sigma and use her for your early major Gold Farm runs. When you have earned several millions already start pumping Gold and invest Gokd Eggs on Big Trouser.

At the start of the game unlocking stuff, and getting new weapon evolutions will get you going. After that it just comes naturally as you obliterate enemies.

Dont worry about anything involving the words eggs, arcana, or characters names you don't recognize.
