Again, I have to be missing something because this just looks like an impossible task. I've tried every weapon setup available, going for all the bonus pickups in a level and still not enough damage/armour to survive the larger waves. Enemies go from dying to taking hits for 30-40 seconds in mere moments, and before I know it I'm dead because I couldn't clear space.
Pick Pugnala, start on hyper, with arcanas on..
pick the healing arcana and head to the right, there is a green crystal..
if you dont get garlic, restart until you get one in the first level up.
After that, you get the chandelier, brazer, tome, crown and spellbreaker and tigarisu
weapons you get after garlic are the spellbook, both birds
Bringin Garlic up to lvl 4 is very important, after that pugnalas might-per-lvl should take over.
Concentrate on evolving the pistols and the birds fast and dont bother with the passive levelling except for crown and tigarisu.
Last two weapons are of choice, after you evolved both of those.
Personally i like the gatto, but you can take anything you like^^
For the purpose of just surviving 30 minutes, grab: Spinach, Empty Tome and Duplicator, Candelabrador and Bracer- the last slot can be whatever. With those passives you have a large selection of weapons you can evolve fairly quickly since their pairings are common or relatively common. You could use your last weapon/passive slot for King Bible or Santa water and their passive pairing which work quite well as protection as well as better dmg than Garlic.
Some tips that are useful: Go as long as you can without grabbing chests, try to save them for when you can evolve a weapon. Also save item drops from lighting sources for waves that overwhelm you. If you leave experience gems on the ground and hit the drop limit, red gems will start spawning off your screen which give a huge chunk of exp from just that one gem which can save you some running around.
When you level up, you want to focus first on acquiring a full slate of weapons, and getting level 1 in any passive that is needed for evolution. Given the choice between upgrading an existing ability or picking up a new ability that you want, always pick the new ability. Until you get a good grasp on how the passives work, a good rule of thumb is to just always pick up whatever passives are needed to evolve the weapons that you have.
Dont worry about upgrading passives at first unless you have no other options. Upgrade passives after you upgrade weapons. In order to evolve a weapon you need to max out the weapon and have at least level 1 in the corresponding passive. Once you have that, the next chest you open will evolve the weapon, unless it is a chest from the minute 11 or minute 21 waves (those are always arcana).
Evolved weapons are MASSIVELY better than the normal weapons. You cannot evolve anything until minute 10, so dont bother saving chests from minutes 1-9. Just open those right away. After that, if a chest drops and you are close to maxing out a weapon, you should avoid picking up the chest until you have what you need to evolve. Unless you get absolutely cucked by RNGesus, you should be at least close to your first evolution by minute 10. In a really good run you may already have one or more weapons ready to evolve as soon as that chest drops.
As far as upgrades to purchase with coins, you wanna have at least one level in regen. Also pick up both levels of attract, and get Amount as soon as you can. It is cheap to get a few levels of Skip, Banish, and Reroll once you unlock them, and those make it much easier to control what abilities you get from level ups. Beyond that, the cooldown and area upgrades are important, and Growth is VERY important as it will allow you level up faster. Just pick these things up gradually.
Get the hang of this, and you'll find that you win most rounds and you'll hit level 100+ in almost every run with hardly any effort.
Also, some waves are always more about surviving than leveling. If a wave seems to have enemies that are few in number but hard to kill, you might be better off just surviving till the next wave. Later on, you'll use those waves to travel across the map.
Stage 4 is a lot rougher on top of that, so you definitely want to figure out what exactly your build or powerup problem is before you would dive into that.
