I think when you max it and have high luck, it should rarely wipe anything.
Honestly it's really the primary reason I think the Pentagram just isn't ever worth using, it can really frustrate early games... by the time it's good it's great, but plenty other weapons are great too.
Gorgeous moon is really good if you build specifically for pentagram.
Going to try this again tonight at work. Gonna keep dumping in Pug too for now.
I am intrigued by this. I am also having a pretzel for breakfast.
"Pentagram initially has a 10% chance to not destroy items, which is increased at levels 3, 5 and 7. This chance is affected by the character's Luck." -Thus sayeth the wiki, along with the actual math of how it works.
So if I use it again then grab it second weapon asap and get it to 7 asap to try to prevent this from happening.
Also worth noting is that Christine has a -30% cooldown modifier, so if you max out Blank Tome, Gorgeous Moon just CONSTANTLY goes off, murderizing pretty much anything.
I might have to try this. Might be pretty fun lol. Is anyone using her to farm eggs at all?
