Beginner friendly character

What would you say is a good character for beginners to understand and learn the game?

I played, and still do love to play Antonio. I used Gennaro a lot too for grinding money. The first time I beat each new stage and challenge level I took my boy Antonio through. His might bonus isn't uncapped like Pugnala's is but it's still damn good. The standard whip has tons of knockback on it's own and when you evolve it to Bloody Tear you can keep yourself healed with it. With both Antonio and Gennaro when I was starting out I did favor getting garlic to rush through weak mobs and keep myself protected when a huge wave would push them into me and it's a projectile shield. Both of their character perks work well with each other's weapons too since the whips get extra swipes with Gennaro's amount bonus and everything benefits from Antonio's might bonus so if you pick one and then grab the other's weapon you can combine both weapons you are already familiar with and rock the block. From there you will unlock more power ups and boost every character with them and you can experiment with new characters and find your groove.

Imelda and Pasqualina are probably the most beginner friendly. Rune Tracer and Magic Wand are good starting weapons.

fair point, think my first win was pasqualina in the library, No Future was insane.

I am going to second with Gennaro. Even though he doesn't gain stats as he levels, that +1 amount more than makes up for it. There's a reason amount costs 5000 gold.

He'll probably even be a solid pick over the rare-weapon cadre (despite their ultimate +3 amount) simply because he STARTS with that bonus, and he has the potential to be your "main" per standard until you get the unlimited/coffin girls.
