Peppino vs Guardians

Out of curiosity is there any kind of strategy that would work for Peppino for if you wanted to kill Guardians. I get that you never really need to but thought of it as more of a challenge and keep getting bodied.

Tried Wings+speed from store and it's definitely not even close to being enough. Even using frozen enemies as buffers with the lancet is tough really hard to do.

Think you'll just need to farm up coins with another character and buy enough eggs where the movement speed isn't as much of an issue. It's still going to be a nightmare though, Guardians have pretty fast base movement speed and at ridiculous amounts of curse. Even with 1000 eggs, the average speed gain is about 50%, so it'll take way more than that just to even out to normal (2000?).

Probably a combination of tons of eggs, super hard hitting weapons, and using lancet to freeze enemies to provide a buffer. Maybe using the bookcase exploit?

Fully upgraded wings and speed upgrade are must. Although they are immune to knockback, they slightly slow down with continuous hit so shadow pinion, celestial dusting etc. greatly helps. Awake arcana also helps getting some speed through revivals.

In Library I make the relics spawn behind bookshelves so when I pick them up the guardian gets stuck behind the bookshelf.

Then you use whip, bible, holy water or upgraded guns, something that can hit thru walls.

Hyper mode gives a crazy speed boost. I got tree going pretty quickly with wings, hyper and shop speed bonus.

One potential way you could go about it (haven't tried it myself) you could bank up a lot of exp on the ground, and not have any weapons at max level (or upgrade everything) provided that you leave all potential upgrade chests on the floor. Then grab the magnet arcana, grab the two for the cape (presumably you'll have a revive or two still available, I think having the revive arcana would be a must in this case.) and then pick up all the exp before they kill you. If you're fast enough, you might be able to evolve the cape before getting overwhelmed. And once you have that you're pretty much invulnerable.

You must be playing withou Hyper or... with bad build ?

If you take Wing (as passive) and upgrade it to level 5 , it's 100% doable, especially if you take them one by one.
You won't outpace them and they will catch up to you slowly, but assuming you have weapon (I mean OP don't mention doing it with 1 Weapon...) those will hit them and "stunt" them (as any weapon) so that will keep them away

Even if you take on all 4 at the same time, it's doable. Maybe hard if it's end game (with a lot of other enemies). But if you just take them one by one, it's not hard at all, they will keep beeing pushed away by Evolved Garlic and any other weapon that hit them.


Maybe for an easier time you can take Empty Tome to redue cooldown and have more uptime on them especially from the push-away of Soul Eater

Tried again with 4 Guardian Spawned.

There is some weapon that doesn't do sh#t to them for sure
But there is also weapon that "stunt" them during the hit process which keep them at bay as long as you keep moving.

I don't have a list of those (maybe the Wiki has?) but I can say that:
Whip
Runetracer
(Cross)
Those 2 deffinitely keep them away, you "just" need to keep them above you and have a Runetracer far enough into its upgrade to have enough projectile. I also think Cross does it but I'm not 100% positive.

I tried it with all weapon (except whip but that shouldn't change) at level 5.
I also have Empty Tome lvl 5 (max) which does help a lot.

There is probably other weapon that work too, maybe enough of those to create different build, but here it is, yes it is doable with the correct weapon.

All that has been tested in Hyper mode, while I personnally don't understand why you wouldn't play in Hyper, I specify that in case someone is playing in normal and found out those information above doesn't work
