Secret characters

how can i find more about them without spoilers?. I dont like using guides, i prefer figuring things out. like having fun pairing random items togather seeing wich combinitaions are recuired to evolve them. are there any hints in the game itself for unlocking secret characters?

Well, no. There are not. They are secret for a reason.

I know! Unfortunately, The first four secret characters are not offered in a discoverable way. You need to read about them and how to unlock them. One of the few pet peeves I have with this game.

Marrabbio and Minnah (and the upcoming Peppino) are the exceptions. But the methods to get these characters are a result of completely arbitrary choices by the devs, not some logical pathway you can follow.

In short, go read about those secret characters. This is not the game for discoverable secrets.

Well, Peppino is not really that known, you would need to flower that damn garden level :D
Minnah is, IIRC, unlocked when you pick up an item that's not visible on the map, but Arcana VIII drags it back to you
Marrabbio gets done automatically over time, you'll definitely pick up the chickens, you just need to notice the pies :D

I found that there's 9 of them, brb unlocking Leda

I would say Leda is pretty stumble-upon-able since all you have to do is get curious and head in one direction for a long time. (on a specific map.)

And a certain Very Fast Red Boy is basically unlocked by playing around with items...

well other than the ghost characters all secret chars can be discovered by curiosity.

any stage
once you notice the 31min archivment.
you might wonder why this is even a thing, and end up well trying sth.

stage 1
once you max out your efficiency in the forest, you might notice a new item spawnin

stage 3
a rather lazy person is very likly to trigger its secrets.

stage 4
when you move north you will eventually reach the balcony
how ever when you head south you will notice that brightness gets lose.
one should wonder why.

patch 0.7.+
there is a rather weird stage, and a certain weapon with a evenly weird effect.
by pure curiosity match them :D

so yes the game is telegraphing quite a lot.

I think there are only 2 (maybe 3) hidden characters you can actually find by yourself.

But the others... Definitly no way.

tread creator asked for clues within the game
so i tried to make him aware without giving away too much.

i actually unlocked 3 without even knowing about secret charcters.
those i mentioned as: any, stage 1 and stage 4

stage one was a rly weird one since i didnt notice when it started.
so i happend to have spawned multiple per screen so keeped moving back n forth.
which direction they rly want me to head to...
than i heard some music play but nothing else happening, so i walked away frustated since i was close to the purple ring when i desided to investigate...
so i created lotz of preasure picking up arowws n rings in time to still create crimson and corridor...

I think 4 of the bonus characters are achievable without looking things up and just playing the game, but the ghostly trio are definitely not part of that list. I'm also unsure whether I would have figured out how to get 0.7.3's newest secret character.

There are hints to some.

Exdash can be gotten without the code. It's just very rare.
Leda, the tower gets darker and darker and there are runes that change as you go down.
Red Death should be able to be gotten as you do the evolutions.

Celestial Dusting scales with movement speed; the flowers seem to be flying further while you move. That means more healing done, but they don't give visual signs of healing anything until you've upgraded them a few times. There's a sound cue telling you when you're done. (I, however, forgot to enable sounds for my attempt and ran around the full 15 minutes. It resulted in success.)

There's basically no way of finding some of the secret characters without knowing exactly what you need to do to get em. It's stupid.

what balcony or are you refering to the mirror area
