How to cast spells?

I beat "Roley-Poley" Sketamari and got the scroll of Morebane. But when I type in the spells I see online, nothing happens at all. What am I missing? Thanks in advance guys!

there should be a 'Secrets' button in the main menu, there is an interface for inputting the spells there. Be warned, unlocking things with spells instead of the intended method may remove some experiences from the game.

You need to type them fast. I learned this trying to unlock Exdash, because I'm not waiting to collect 1k clovers or whatever the expected value is.

Go to the secrets menu, click on the input field, then type the spell.

were you able to type "x-x1viiq"?

weird, just restarted the game and typed x-x1viiq in main menu no problem, perhaps it has something to do with controller usage. as in, if you use controller for anything after starting the game, it would not accept code from keyboard or something like that

The code has a time limit from the moment you start typing, maybe you just didn't type fast enough up until you memorized the code

The only code, codes actually Spam and Humbug, that has a definite time limit is the one you use to unlock Smith IV.
