Mortaccio is also great once you've got amount, and duplicator unlocked, you can get up to +6 projectiles. The trouble is the early game, garlic and bible are very useful. *if* you can level them, which is where running library and buying powerups helps. Growth, reroll etc.
If you kill 100k enemies (over multiple runs) you get a character with revives, you only need to last to lv60 on map 3 to unlock map 4, map 4 has a lot of tools to make runs easier. So then you can go back to map 3.
Garlic and bible early on and evolving bible should see you through. And pick up crown if you can to make sure you hit 60.
One other factor here: Chests on map 3 will evolve weapons before 10 minutes, that means if you can somehow get garlic or bible to lv8 with their passives at 5-8 minutes in, you're golden.
Also, if you're going to go for items / coffins on this map, wait until there's a thin wave, like werewolves or something, and just stay in one area levelling as much as possible beforehand.
If you do have the map, you could also get the coffin on stage 1 as Pugnala is a really solid character.
Go back to the Library map and keep playing it until you can consistently beat it. Then try playing Dairy Plant, you should at least be able to survive until you are level 60, which will unlock Gallo Tower (it is an easier map than Dairy Plant) and that map has a relic or two (one unlocks the Arcanas) and a new character or two you can use.
If you have her unlocked, try using Pugnala, she gains +1% might per level and even if you don't evolve the guns, they are pretty good weapons.
Try using Cross. It is a good starter weapon and the evolution (with Clover) is decent.
Also, consider using Santa Water and evolving it with Attract Orb, it is a powerful weapon and if you stand on top of La Borra (the evolved version), it makes a nice safe area to kill mobs.
With all upgrades bought you are pretty tanky. If you need to run into enemies to hit them do it. You will heal it back and you need the xp to snowball.
Bibles are good defensive weapons and it's hard to go wrong with them. Needs spellbinder to evolve.
Probably you need the attract orb if you are bad at collecting xp gems. It goes with santa water which is also a pretty good defensive weapon. With evolved santa water and bibles you should be able to pretty much just stand still, the xp will come to you through the attractorb. Then you can get your offensive gear. The santa water follows you around in a circle. If you are finding that enemies get to you when standing still try moving towards where the santa water has landed to make the circle tighter and more protective around you.
cant pinpoint the reason but that levels jsut feels way harder than the previous ones.
took the time to instead unlock whatever was possible at that point before finally beating it
