That is just so over the top bonkers. All hail our new feline overlords.
I'd never pick cats as an early weapon, but they're pretty great.
Until Toastie gets a random bad roll and gets killed by a cat lmao. But ye damagewise they are great aslong as you got the luck to keep them supplied with light sources. A bit contradicting tho since you want them early to feed them up but getting them early they become a liability
I can't figure out how to create a link to it, but the title talks about Finally, beating Death with Toastie. There are a few screenshots of the run. The run lasted over 5 hours (320 minutes) and the first shot shows the end game summary.
People say Garlic is bad just because they judge how good weapons are based entirely around damage when that's always the main point of the weapon. Garlic is good, great knockback, Clock Lancet deals 0 damage in a 30+ minute run but it could make a run significantly easier and also hold off multiple deaths at once.
Think we need to spend more time with it, boost luck, and after multiple runs maybe come back with some real information.
Since I have to lvl Giovanna to lvl99 to unlock a new card today, I'll go to the library and banish cats. Runetracer + Santa Water + Thunder Ring (esp +Bible) can you win the entire library run on ANY character. There is no incentive to run around the short, but wide, map trying to avoid your own ability, cats. Since mobs are dying fast and far away, cats are a handicap in the library, they will have nothing better to do, other than bite your own butt. P.S. I do have 4 revivals (card + power up) at the beginning, but it doesn't make the cats any better/less dangerous.
P.S.II: I really, thoroughly dislike the fact, that cats will deal damage to you. It's not even, that they can/could, it is a fact, that they will.
TL;DR I guess: If you want to chill on the map, don't play her/cats.
UPD: Just did it with lvl 8 cats in the library (didn't banish), after all. Just lvled them up as the last ability.
And Awake does affect them, if you eat your revives the area/speed bonuses are huge. Their damage is already high enough that you probably won't notice the overkill, but I just finished a Mad Forest run on Exdash and not only were catfights the only thing that could kill stuff at a reasonable pace they'd even mulch bosses and chufty bois. Once you get enough cats on screen they're very good, tho I noticed you can't move around too much or you'll get significantly fewer catfights.
No not kidding
Pick up the empty tome and candelabrador
The cats gets so big they can't avoid eachother and the empty tome makes them spawn over themselves so you end up with a perpetual catfight
Then all you need to do is stand still and enjoy the carnage :D
