Marrabbio (Spoilers)

I think the following are required:

Mad Forest
Pummarola
Skull of Maniac

I don't think it matters if you pick em off the ground or choose them, if someone can try just choosing them as level up rewards. That'd be awesome.

My pies started spawning as soon as I picked up skull and already had pummarola from level ups. They started at 16 minutes and the mage spawned at 20 minutes.

I did not hpick any of the new evolutions, but have them unlocked. Skull of Maniac was the only thing I picked up off the ground. I took Red Death, but have seen a video of someone doing it with Poe.

I was in Hyper and had Arcana enabled, but I don't think it matters.

Just another data point... got the pies to start spawning around ~11 minutes. Playing as red death. Got skull and Pummarola like OP described. Nothing evolved yet. Didn't pick up any of the rings or cloaks, but was in the area around the ring (as well as killed the boss it spawns, but this was much earlier in the run).

edit: there was a long gap between getting enough pies (they stopped spawning, at least) and the boss showing up. it was around ~26 minutes or so when the mage showed up for me. I had maxed out all my items a while before that and was just leveling and collecting money from my level ups by that point.

Tried this. Pies starting literally as soon as I picked up Pummola after having grabbed Skull at the beginning.

Aww, he unlocks from the pies? I thought it was a bonus because I put so many gold eggs into Gennaro. That would have been cool; unlock a secret character with the upgraded weapon if you egg somebody enough.

Interesting to note that it seems like you may be able to ignore having this character spawn by ignoring the pies. Depending on where you are when they start spawning you may have to 'follow' them to get him to spawn.

Something I noticed in doing a couple of runs.

can do in hyper, boss spaened as early as 16min after pick up red heart, skull and piez

I got mine to spawn in 11 minutes. I picked Red Death, ran straight to the two items, and got all the pies. Took like 5 minutes to kill it but after you kill it, you can just quit and unlock it.

Just unlocked the "Boon Marrabbio" I did this:

Picked red death, rushed to pick up the Pummarola, the second after I picked a "Skull of Maniac" pies started to spawn, they started to lead me to the North-West I followed the pie path and met the boss at ~4-6th minute of the game ( he looks like a not unlocked character, wizzard with a hat ) it took me ~5 minutes to kill him, after i killed him I quit to the menu and saw that character was unlocked. Good luck.

I didn't follow a path. They were just spawning NW of my character even standing still.

I think the spawn time for the black mage is kind of random, I have seen people getting pies before 10 mins and the mage spawned at 20 something mins. For me, I grabbed the skull and Pummarola at about 4 mins using red death, which the pies immediately started spawning until 7 mins where they stopped, and the boss spawned about 30 seconds later

Something interesting in the savefile data: "NEO" is the character string for Marrabio...but it is entered twice, in the same section. This has me wondering if this indicates a secret to Marrabio? It looks like this...

What bugs me about this, is that the UnlockedCharacters section has only one entry for NEO.

I think i know why they dont spawn, you need to obtain the yellow sign, after i got it and used mad groove the pies instantly started to spawn, Pummarola first then Skull of Maniac
