how to unlock more cards

If you look in the unlocks/achievements list in the game you can see what you need to do to unlock stuff

look in the unlocks, or play around with new characters more often and get good enough to do well on everyone.

You get most of them by getting characters to level 99

There are achievements tied to unlocking new cards. Complete the achievements with the roman numerals in particular.
