What is the point of "Skip"?

"Reroll" is greatly useful late game if you know what items you want.
"Banish" is like a last resort fallback for when/if you run out of "Rerolls". You hope you don't have to use it and waste a level-up, but if you do then thank God it's there.

Maybe I'm just dumb. (I totally am BTW. I'm phug'n stupid.)

I don't get it.
Why would you take experience over leveling up when you NEED EXPERIENCE IN ORDER TO LEVEL UP? And we're talking about a game that is all about leveling up.

All 3 of those are useful, especially skip. Your strength comes from evolving your items. Skip allows you to skip buying an item you don't want which would take up a valuable slot.

I've never had to use Skip but I keep it as a last resort if I'm having a hard time getting the item I want. I usually Banish early, cause that takes the items out of the pool and increases the chance I'll get what I want for the rest of the game. Banishing early also raises the chance of getting better Rerolls.

It's an even more useless and therefor redundant version of Banish?
If you have to use FOUR Rerolls and Banish THREE items and you STILL CAN'T GET the items you want then too bad.
Skip shouldn't exist unless the Devs greatly increase the number of available items in order to justify giving the player that much control over the RNG.

Sometimes I'm out of re-rolls and banishes, and grabbing an attract orb means I can't evolve my weapon. That's when it's good. I'd rather skip than just get stuck with the base weapon for the rest of the game.

You FULLY upgrade all 12 of your base items + any extra 13th, 14th or 15th free item(s) that the map had laying around that you may have collected as well.
After all that you still had to use 4 ReRolls and banish 3 unwanted items?

Maybe don't skip over items that you want before upgrading the ones you already have.

:o Woah, hostile. Was just stating why I take it. Also no, you don't need to fully upgrade and max a character to be given 3 items you don't want. I've had a lotta situations where I was waiting on Tiragisú to spawn for Phieraggi, and would rather just skip the garlic, laurel, and armor after rolling for 50 levels to get Tiragisú, instead of take one and not be able to get Phieraggi.

Getting the right items is the difference between a level 100 30 minute run and a level 200 40 minute run for me. Eventually the deaths catch up to me, though. :( Well unless I'm playing doggo with wings, but that's just hacks at that point since you out speed the deaths, lol.

When Reroll/Skip first showed up, they were each only usable once per run. Skip was pretty decent then.

These days, I usually go through my Banishes and never even have to touch Reroll or Skip before filling my items.

1. If you've exhausted all means to avoid drops you don't want, and still get bad options

2. If you're doing a toastie run and want more exp due to aiming for the level 200 armor bonus.

I cut them some slack because depending on how experienced you are with the game, you view different things, well, differently. I figured maybe they were mid game and still grabbing anything they could to just complete a run for the sake of completing it.

Like early game players find garlic to be God, and I find a lotta mid-game players find it useless, then it wraps around to end-game players finding it good again once they learn what they can do with it. I'm at a stage where levels mean nothing to me. I probably max out around the 15 minute mark then it's just y'know, 150 levels of money, which I can't use, since I've maxed it already, lol.

I've exhausted the game, gotten all unlocks, (save for two new cheevos because I'm doing my challenge runs so 99 with those two will have to wait xD) and as such have been doing very specific builds and runs. Like Trying to hit level 250, or 50 minutes against the reapers without using doggo+wings. (Cause he's a bit cheaty when it comes to specifically this. Theoretically you could go.... Well for quite a while. Maybe even hours, lol. He out speeds reapers so it's just a matter of keeping an eye on your laurel levels and lancet direction.)

Skip is helpful for the scaling characters, or reaching level 100 unlocks. Also it gives 2 skips per level, instead of just 1 reroll or banish. And it's cheap. So if you haven't maxed everything you can get a bunch of skips to help get builds.

Good for red death runs, as well. Almost had to cancel a few at the 30 minute mark because laurel just wouldn't drop. At least you have 50-100 chances, lol. Got close a couple of times, though.

How does skip factor into the xp?

Since pretty much everyone here is too much of an insecure snowflake baby to give me an academic answer, The best I can infer is that MAYBE you get your XP added toward your next Level-Up. So you don't have to take a item you don't want and instead get an ~50% boost at arriving at your next chance to get an item that you do want.
(I've already explained why this is unnecessary and redundant in the games current state)
