What does Giovanna's cat do?
I'm quite confused as to what this thing does and I can hardly find any info on it other than that it's an arbitrary troll weapon. Is there really nothing more to it?

Before it goes nuts with power, treat it kind of like santa water and drag the enemies across the cats path; every contact with an enemy has a chance to trigger the cat to do a scratch attack in a decently large area.

Scratches you, fights with other cats for existing, steals your food. You know, just cat things.

I wish the cats interacted with peachone like try and catch it thus attracting the cats closer around you. Or the laurel acting like cat nip and keeping the cats close by.

I just wish the cats would do alittle contact damage to the enemies as the cat brawls are fun but it annoying watching so many cats go by and they do nothing.

Is that what they do in your runs? In mine they are actually very active in the sense that they are adamant on killing me. Probably 80% of all dmg I take in my Giovanna runs definetly originates from those cats alone.

Pick up the rejuvenation power up to negate their little scratches. Grab as much luck as possible to make them scratch you less often and get into fights more often.

Thanks but I already figured all that out after like 2-3 rounds but my luck is just terrible in general. Honestly even with their power spike they feel kinda lackluster even with good synergies. It's like highest amount of effort and RNG for medium level OPness as reward.

I've had them be my biggest damage dealers several times. They take a bit of investment, but that's not a bad thing since many other weapons will be wanting those perks as well. I feel that +amount is the biggest factor in them becoming godlike, so grab one of the +amount characters, along with the duplicator ring and power up, to have triple the number of cats you usually have.

With all the right bonuses, if you don't have 80% of the screen covered in instant-death catfight clouds, then you're not witnessing their true potential.

Yeah that's probably the biggest downside of picking Giovanna instead of the other +1 projectile characters. Her additional projectile speed just can't outperform the amount scaling which is kind of sad since the cats are supposed to be her gimmick.

She is my least favorite character. I can't get to 15 mins with her because her cats injury me more then the enemy.

I lead those stupid cats across enemies and they do nothing 90% of the time but if they are within whip range of me they damage me so I end up running away from my cats and into enemies because they are safer, lol.

And I heard luck works with those cats but I guess I never got it high enough to notice. IF I ever get her to 15 mins for the achievement I will stop playing her. I'm not a gambling man and she is just a gamble from my point of view.

To each their own.

Is it intentional that the cats cause damage to the player? There isn't another weapon in the game that hurts you to my knowledge.

You don't control cats, cats just do wathever they want, and they most often want to destroy things ... You comprised. (just don't forget to feed them, non-fed cat is the worst cat)
