I recommend that until you get used to the increased difficulty of this map that rather than running full upgrades you might want to disable all your levels of curse. This map can be a bit rough with curse stacked on top of it until you adjust your play style to accommodate it.
I suppose they could increase the damage, knockback resistance and speed of the enemies to match their toughness so rather than feeling spongy they just feel vicious, but I think we would see a LOT of complaints about it being too hard then. When this level was first released in beta it was quite a bit harder than it is now, but we had people whining about it, and about how it was unfair for such a tanky enemy to be able to tear you apart so quickly, so the devs softened up the wave composition and damage.
I mean, isn't all that what the curse and hyper mode is for? The game markets itself as being casual, I wouldn't expect it to be ultra difficult by default, so it makes sense that people wanted it to be made easier.
