Suor Clerici will not unlock!

I've read the guides and know about bloody tear and Soul eater.
I just did a run where I had 331 max HP, took damage until I was at less than 100, and healed back to full health more than 5 times in a single run (as I figured the lifetime count wasn't tracking?) but STILL I cannot get this character unlocked...

What am I doing wrong?

I'll be honest, I don't remember how I unlocked Clerici. However, the achievement specifically says to "recover" 1,000 health. This could refer to the power up Recovery, and/or the recovery effect you get from Pummarola. Floor Chicken "restores" health, so it may not count.

That's why I run with Blood tear and Soul Eater almost every single run now as I had thought the same... but I guess I'll just keep trying.

Those weapons introduce other types of heals, which also probably don't count for the achievement. You may be better off without them, as they give recovery less time to do its job.

try to use the evolved version of garlic and the whip... maybe it will help unlock it

Ok, so I just did a run with Red Death, Soul Eater, Blood Tear, and the regen over time support item (pumin...something) and had his max HP over 800.

Same thing, got him hurt to 100, avoided ALL chickens, and then healed back to full health, 5 times... still no unlock.

Looking at the achieve unlock % globally, 70+% have unlocked this character. This is literally the only thing I don't have unlocked at this point.

If it's gotta be Pumin...the heart item regeneration only? I've had it maxed out on 90% of my runs.

Something is broken at this point.

Soul Eater and Blood Tear heal you in a way that doesn't count for the achievement, I'm pretty sure of it now. If you use them, only a small fraction of your missing health is being recovered (rather than healed by other methods).

Yeah, this sounds like something is very broken. Have you ever edited your game files? It sounds like it could be a corrupted file.

I'm pretty sure I unlocked him before I ever evolved either of these weapons even once and before I ever picked Pummarola (or maybe it wasn't even in the game then?).
So I'm also rather sure that I unlocked him simply through picking up enough chickens, and I have suspicions that you might not even need to actually recover that much HP, you might just need to pick up enough of a "healing value" to get it, meaning that you probably can unlock him without ever dropping below 100% HP. Though the 'suspicions' part is relatively likely to be false.

I did it on a run where I had both soul eater and bloody tear, but I had also grabbed the clover so the floor chickens were just everywhere and I was picking them up all the time as well. Didn't worry at all about taking damage and healing it back up, just picking up items and getting the healing from the whip as the run progressed.

Not sure how my save could have been corrupted, but is there a way to start over if it unlocks that quickly normally?

hmm odd, I wonder if it isn't only from chickens then? but surely you must have had a successful run where you were sucking up everything on the map by now.

Pummarola is a passive item in Vampire Survivors. It is unlocked by surviving 5 minutes as Gennaro Belpaese.
