Any worry about copyright?
I'm not trying to stir up anything, I'm just really curious.
With all due respect to a dev and game I'm very much enjoying, I can't help but wonder if you fear the wrath of copyright takedowns?

The asset pack in question had been commissioned non exclusively for a different game, Serenade of Chaos, in 2006, then removed from sale from Oryx Design Lab's site a few years ago and finally made available on Oryx's Patreon under the name "Hi-Fi Gothic".
Designs from the pack that are too unique and that aren't just the yet another interpretation of something from the Ars Goetia are not in use.

For every other asset please check the credits in game.

you don't like searching for topics before creating them, do you?

Unless it is a pinned comment or on the first page then no. My patronage should at least afford me a question to the general public.

The thing is, you're asking the general public to step up for you when you do that -- the Steam general discussion forums will almost certainly result in the question being read and handled by people other than the developer. You're not really asking the party that you "patronized." You're going to the wrong people with that sense of entitlement -- we didn't get your money.

This is also a subject the dev has posted updates about in their patch notes and game news, so they HAVE tried to communicate about it proactively as well. It ironically would have taken less time and effort for you to scroll down and read for a couple of seconds before hitting the "Play" button on Steam than it would have to make the forum post.

It ironically would have taken you less effort to just answer his question

This right here. Thank you.
They are also free to just ignore my post entirely if it bothers them so.

Okay here's an answer to your incredibly lazy question: There is no asset lifting. All sprites were created by a commissioned artist. Something reminding you of something else does not magically make it identical. If you want to accuse someone of theft, then at the very least compare the things side by side. Which you didn't do. Because if you had, you would know that they're not the same.

If you had spent a minimum of time on looking it up yourself, you would have avoided everyone knowing that you're either a liar or a moron. Alas, that was not to be.

A developer of this app has indicated that this post answers the original topic.
