Torches and spawning/how does the map work?

Does it loop around at all? If not ,how can you tell where there'll be items, just luck and looking around as much as possible? Can things spawn in places you already have been?

Torches can spawn in places you've already been, and items drop from torches. AFAIK the map never loops.

map loops yes with sections respawning when you go far enough. Luck determines how many torches you see at times and what drops from them

I never walk around too much to be honest because torches can spawn where you have been off-screen so I always stay around the same general area because this way I can keep power items like the one that deletes all enemy on screen. So I have plenty of food and such items laying around everywhere for later stages of the game when I need them. Walking back and forth a bit in the same general area will make torches spawn randomly off-screen. So no need to keep walking around on the entire map.

The map loops yes. Drops on the map maintain so nothing despawns but it the furniture gets "reloaded". If you mean the "Empty Tome" or "Greedy Mask" from the library level it isn't "that" random. I think the level has like 5 "sections" loaded at a time and if you go left from spawn you get the tome, if right you get the mask. I never saw both in one run. Also you can obtain two of the listed item in one run. (or was it 3?)

also with that said you can have a total of 7 trinkets after all if you obtain one of the upper items after gaining 6 trinkets.

Ahh I see, so it loops but its not extremely small either. And stuff stays forever so you should try to stay around the same few screens?

The Library will give you two accessories if you walk far enough left and right, allowing you to have more than 6 accessories. The Tome is to the left and the Mask is to the right.

I don't think the forest has any free goodies, so yeah you can stay around spawn on that map if you want.

Maps do not loop. The layout just looks the same. If you break a candle at the start of a game and go right for 10 minutes. You have to go back the same distance to get the item from the candle that dropped.

Gems will follow you though. So if you keep going right, you should only need to go back a few screens to pick em all up. They'll also combine and turn into red gems so it may not look like it, but they did. If you go in a direction for a few minutes and then turn around to pick up the gems, the red gem may even give you more than one level in exp.

Luck does increase the candles that appear. Someone corrected me and posted the code and I've also tested it using Exdash.

You can definitely get the mask and book. I pretty much do it every time I play the Library.

Its true, I found a hollow heart there once. I have NO idea how I'm ever gonna find it again though...

I've not seen it myself, but it would be weird to only give free extra trinkets in library and not the forest (which would be much harder to find them in).

If you go south for enough loops (5-15) in the mad forest you'll eventually find either a Pummarola or Spinach(or nothing) in the walled off garden area right of the road, tho it doesn't seem like its possible to get both that way
