Is the same engine they used in THE SIMS 3?
This looks like they use the same assests and engine as the sims 3. Used to play sims 3 all the time back in the day, and i can recognize it a mile away. In fact, it looks very similiar to the sims 3 style of characters and actions. I looked at the trailer and it seems to be very similiar, I hope they is not stolen IP's or all the copyright paperwork has been done right.

Fun fact, the original The Movies from Lionhead was made with the same engine as the sims 3.

Im talking about the actions the simulated people do, how they move and act. I was wondering possibly if they use the same engine from the trailer i saw. I have not played the game myself, so that is why i was asking. Considering your first answer was claiming i was a troll, i will ignore your answer and see if anyone else has constructive criticism that is more truthful since you claim everyone posting a honest post as a troll.
My apologies.

Apology accepted. Thank you for doing that. I gave you award too for doing that. Thank you.

Could have been a knee jerk reaction to that typical thread "they stole engine x" that some actual trolls use ;). I mean no one steals from EA and gets away with it, doubt anyone would be that stupid.

You would be suprised that it has happened before:

With that, other developers can make similiar games. This has happened even to COD games before, and that is why we get clones of it now.

I thought Movies was older? Sure it wasnt Sims2?

They used a heavily modified version of the Renderware engine for The Sims 3:

And here is a list of all games made with Renderware (although strangely enough it does not list The Sims 3 in there):

Fair enough but if they find that someone uses it they will sue them to beggars House. They have an army of lawyers. Blatantly stealing graphic elements would be even easier to sue. Being inspired by is a different matter. I guess they are only happy about that.

Ah thanx Wasted. Maybe it is me who is too old but I thought Movies was older.
