New Game + is now available for ALL DIFFICULTY
My request has been answered
BIG LOVE!

New Game + should NOT be locked behind Serious Difficulty.

I guess you're supposed to have gadgets from your previous playthrough for situations like that, though I didn't have any in NG+.

Yeah the changelog says you should have all your skills, weapons and gadgets available but you actually only have all your weapons ready from the get go. Your skills have to be re-unlocked again and all the gadgets are gone. Makes this unfun difficulty even more unfun.

I've heard different things from different people. I didn't have my SAM skills, but I had 7 NG+ points for the weapon upgrades. Someone else told me he had 7 SAM skills, but no NG+ points. So it's probably a bug or some kind of issue with player progress transfer.

I don't even know how to upgrade the weapons. There's no menu or anything. If it's that "weapon selection modifier" button in the key bind options then that one is broken as all it does it switching between normal single weapon and dual wielding weapons.

I think the game tells you to press C at the beginning of NG+.

It didn't. There was just the intro cutscene and then the game started as usual. No message or anything making me aware of weapon upgrading even being a thing.

I think it showed up at the top or bottom of the screen after the intro, at the beginning of the level. That's how I knew to press C.
I remember it showing up, but easily being miss-able, but even if I used all the upgrades on my guns, difficulty is still too crazy.

That's because these weapon upgrades don't do much. I fully upgraded my Double Barrel Coach Gun to be able to deal with all these Kleers in that one annoying area of the first level and guess what: even at close range a full upgraded Double Barrel Coach Gun shot is not enough to kill a Kleer with a single shot on this difficulty. On this difficulty the game just feels like it has been turned into Nuts.wad.

Well, NG+ was fun for the few minutes I played until I reached that one room in the first level that spawns like 100 Kleers or so. This difficulty is not at all balanced for a single person playing through it. Feels more like it's a difficulty for 4 player co-op only. Everything is faster than you and kills you in two hits or sometimes even instakills you while you can unload half a magazine into an enemy and he still won't die. Dogs*** difficulty that's absolutely no fun to play at all. I'm done with NG+ until you can play it on the other difficulties too.

While I can agree that the fight is hard and challenging, and might seem frustrating at first, you need to remind yourself that you are playing New Game Plus, which was specifically designed to give the player this specific type of extra challenge. It took me like ten attempts in total, together with the first marsh hopper wave, to get through that arena. The first part, you just spam the grenades from your single barrel shotgun to kill all the frogs. When the kleers start to spawn, you take out your cannon and take them down with uncharged cannonballs. During that of course, you need to circle strafe around the arena. Currently I am almost at the end of the New Game Plus and there wasn't a single fight which took me more than ten attempts, apart from the one where Sam decides to fight instead of flee, at the end of the fourth mission. But that is because I am too stubborn to dual wield, or use gadgets. So before you start insulting the difficulty and balance, maybe first try to think about what is the purpose of the mode you are playing and whether you dying isn't more of a skill issue or a wrong mindset problem.

You are already approaching this fight wrongly. The good part of the challenge is to brainstorm what are your options and which weapons are suited best for which encounter. If you are trying to kill all these kleers with shotgun in New Game Plus, I can only say that I adore your bravery, but I am afraid you won't be able to accomplish that.

I'd gotten all five presents to unlock the new skin for the weapon, but the moment I saw that NG+ MUST be played at Serious level, I gave it a hard pass. Personally, I find it more frustrating than challenging to play SS on any level harder than 'Normal'.

Nope, I have the parts but don't intend to carry on at Serious setting, now IF the dev allow us to choose, I'd not mind giving it another go or two.

The concept of new game plus isn't to be thrown at you the highest difficulty but simply to replay the game while keeping your upgrades.
