While I can agree that the fight is hard and challenging, and might seem frustrating at first, you need to remind yourself that you are playing New Game Plus, which was specifically designed to give the player this specific type of extra challenge. It took me like ten attempts in total, together with the first marsh hopper wave, to get through that arena. The first part, you just spam the grenades from your single barrel shotgun to kill all the frogs. When the kleers start to spawn, you take out your cannon and take them down with uncharged cannonballs. During that of course, you need to circle strafe around the arena. Currently I am almost at the end of the New Game Plus and there wasn't a single fight which took me more than ten attempts, apart from the one where Sam decides to fight instead of flee, at the end of the fourth mission. But that is because I am too stubborn to dual wield, or use gadgets. So before you start insulting the difficulty and balance, maybe first try to think about what is the purpose of the mode you are playing and whether you dying isn't more of a skill issue or a wrong mindset problem.
You are already approaching this fight wrongly. The good part of the challenge is to brainstorm what are your options and which weapons are suited best for which encounter. If you are trying to kill all these kleers with shotgun in New Game Plus, I can only say that I adore your bravery, but I am afraid you won't be able to accomplish that.
Nope, I have the parts but don't intend to carry on at Serious setting, now IF the dev allow us to choose, I'd not mind giving it another go or two.
The concept of new game plus isn't to be thrown at you the highest difficulty but simply to replay the game while keeping your upgrades.
