Question about PS5 updates.

Hi all. Want to buy SM on my PS5, but one question. How about patches / events for PS5 version? How long is the delay compared to PC, or do they come out at all? I've read posts here on the forum where people are complaining and asking, when the last patch will be released on PS5 as well. Because if the developers forget about the console version of the game, I'd rather not buy it at all. Many thanks for answers.

Unfortunately we won't be able to patch the console version in the near future. And even when we will, the patch will only contain the most crucial fixes and not the new content. Sorry about that, I wish we could do better

Thanks for honest answer. I already buy your game, but after your words, I will refund it without hesitation. I was looking forward to your game, but the "full" game… with Halloween and Christmas events and NG+ also. We pay full and same price on PS store, just like other players, but we get less. Sorry, but I cannot support such an approach, whatever the reason for missing content is.

And may I ask you, why is that... ? What is the reason for such an attitude ? Why did you release the game on PS5 as well, if you dont give a damn about console players ? And is there at least some hope that you will ever improve your support for consoles... ? Or it will remain as it is. I'm asking because I like this type of games and I also like the Serious Sam series and sometime in the future I would like to support your game as well, but not in this current state.

On console there is an achievement “massacre party” which isn’t even achievable as the co op was not included on consoles for performance reasons. Will this ever be fixed?

That's exactly one of those crucial things I want to fix and hopefully will at some point.

I understand. I hope for one thing, at least that you let us know when things move forward… and we get that missing content and patches on consoles... though even here on Steam, since we don't have forums on PS5 and we have no way of knowing. Many thanks.

That was uncalled for. His first reply made it pretty clear that there are other reasons for the lack of support. Also, they've already MADE a console port, so does it seem like they don't care? Do you not realize that Croteam, Devolver, or the console manufacturers might have something to do with this? Why are people on the internet always so unreasonable?

I don’t think it’s unreasonable to expect support for games we buy which are complete messes. Both this and ss4 on consoles are stutter fests and received no improvements to fix. Plus why can’t they update games? Other developers do. I only imagine it’s because on consoles patches cost money but if that’s the case get it right before release or don’t release at all

That's not what I meant when I asked why people are so unreasonable. I was talking about OP's reaction. Asdolg's first comment in this thread had already hinted at some issues behind the scenes, and he even said it's reasonable to refund the game. Then OP was asking him about his attitude and accused him of not caring about console players? That came out of nowhere.

As a german reviewer said, he has no clue why "Devolver Digital" has such a god-status in the gaming community.
Because yeah, when I read about that devs are not authorized to talk about something, it's up to the publisher.
And DD can mock the industry all they want... but they aren't better in any way or shape.

EDIT: Remember why "Blood 2" is such a terrible game?
Because of terrible publisher decisions.
I've enjoyed my time on PS5 and beaten the game 10 minutes ago, but this is the reason why I hessitate to buy AA or Indie games on consoles... cause the patch-support is terrible beyond belief.

Pushing updates to Sony consoles is extremely expensive and requires a full detailed report that's pretty scrutinizing because they want to avoid console exploits. I don't recall it being that difficult in the 360 days, but Sony was always careful.
