Super counter (Up + square) literally makes the game unplayable. There are no combos because of this mechanic. You can get out of every hitstun or blockstun, it has to be fixed before everything else.

It doesn't make it unplayable. The game would allow for one hit death combos without it. You find that fun?

nah thats cap. The time window is very sharp, it actually has some skill and its counterable. Only thing i found really broken is after image strike cause they are literally untouchable with it lmao, i really think this is day -1 meta

It doesn't make it unplayable. The game would allow for one hit death combos without it. You find that fun?

Have you ever tried Xenoverse 2? The game has no infinite combo because it's a about stamina management. Super counter literally has no risk nor requieres any resource.

It is quite easy actually. Especially against those who hit many times per second like Jiren. You can literally mash it. Characters like Broly are the only ones which will requiere some timing and again, it's easy.

I've played XV2 yes. Pretty sure XV2 doesn't have infinites regardless of stamina.


My point is this game is so much more combo intensive than XV2. If there's no way out of a combo in your back, it's over. And this isn't XV2, it's following Tenkaichi 3. Obviously they're not gonna entirely change the game.

I'm not saying the rest of the mechanics are fine. I actually think almost every single mechanic is broken. I know some people are not experienced in Fighting games and will probably not see it clear as some of us do, but almost every mechanic has no risk or requieres barely any KI leaving next to no room for counterplay or outplay.

Parry and everything parrylike has no risk unless after image comes in play since you can't parry from behind, but then again, you can get out of any "punish" since you can Super Counter. The whole game is not well thought and it would be 1000 times better to just make it like Xenoverse 2 without Iframe grabs.

There is a way out of a combo in your back. Super counter, Counter Z (L1, L1 if not mistaken), Skills that will allow you to break free..

That being said, I agree, Sparking Zero has a big issue without Super counter. With it, there are no true combos and without, combos are just too opresive since there's just a couple of things to get out of them and requiere Skill points (You start with 0).

The whole game has to be fixed and work around resources like Stamina/Ki, just as Xenoverse.

BTW, you might have forgotten it but in XV2, if you outplay your opponent (skill based gameplay), you'll make him/her run out of stamina thus leading to guard break/garanteed combos which literally can kill from 100 to 0, so it's not like oppresive combos didn't happen, they just requiered skill and you were awarded for it..

Sounds like you just want another Xenoverse. Tenkaichi has largely kept it's gameplay loop and mechanics through each title with small additions to each one. Completely changing either of those would kill all of the spirit the game carries with it's playerbase.

It's supposed to be hard. Keep practicing, you'll get better.
