DRAGON BALL: Sparking! ZERO

DRAGON BALL: Sparking! ZERO

1p vs 2p battle, only one map?
The title is the question. There's only the room right of spirit and time available. Do we have to unlock the other maps somehow?

We have been playing Raging Blast 2 (PS3) for many years and we're used to a ton of maps in PvP / split screen mode. Maybe I'm just getting old now as I can't seem to find the other maps.

For local pvp, there is only Time Chamber.

Seems like for some technical issue they could not implement splint screen for all maps.

Xbox Series S feature parity, blame Microsoft (Xbox division)

Hey Xena, thanks for answering so quickly. Whaaaat? I'm completely shocked right now tbh. Local PvP/split screen is the entire reason we have been playing Raging Blast 2 for so many years. It's a ton of fun with the kids. Technical reasons are behind this? Wow, that's something I wasn't expecting considering PS2/PS3 have been able to do it for many years now.

I hope they fix this because I bought the ultimate edition thinking we could play all of the maps together. It gets quite repetitive with only a single map.

Yeah. It was already revealed [gamerant.com].

Here's an older post.

Thanks for the other replies @everyone. I just read the article @Xena. I'm speechless. We're playing right now and my son actually just asked me if we could play RB2 instead because he wants to play his favorite maps. The time chamber is just so bland after a while that it gets old rather quickly.

The levels in Zero are gorgeous visually, so it's such a shame that we can't experience that together. Don't get me wrong, I'm very much looking forward to online gameplay, mainly because I also want to play with my brother, who lives on the other side of the country, but I also need the full local couch potato experience because we're playing this on the Steam Deck, which is hooked up to the big screen in the living room right now.

Is there any chance this feature will be patched back in?

@Godhan: The Series S is the reason?

It's still too early to say. But I believe its possible if the game lowers the resource quality only during split-screen.

Maybe somebody comes up with a mod.

Nah its not the fault of consoles, any and all performance limitations are the fault of the people making the game. They were the ones who couldn't make it work.

So it's a resource issue? Is it because of what Godhan mentioned further above? But that has never been an issue in the past despite much weaker hardware. That's so strange. I sure hope it gets fixed officially though, ideally without any degradation on PC, because modding isn't something that I do nowadays due to lack of time and patience. I'd also like to see it get addressed soon because I spent over a hundred Euros on the ultimate edition and now we're playing RB2 again. Haha, I can't believe it!

Ok, so now we tried to play tournament mode locally and here it's the same situation, I assume? I can't find how to play tournament mode together locally. Is tournament mode single player only?

If so this would be another game feature that we're used to playing in Raging Blast 2. RB2 supports a ton of players locally in tournament mode.

Microsoft has a policy iirc that requires the game be exactly the same on all versions of the XBox it ships to. But the other maps are too laggy on those to work in splitscreen so they had to cut them. And since they dont want to loose XBox as a customer for this game they cut down the maps for everyone. This is what i heard somewhere so idk how accurate this is

Microsoft and their stupid console parity. But still current consoles should be able to handle split screen quite easily, I really doubt it would be harder to run split screen on current gen consoles then Cyberpunk.
There is already a mod on Nexus for play any of the 24 Maps in local split screen aparantly without fault or bad perfomance, its a matter of time on PC.
CE Mod is out, not sure if the NexusMods version is uploaded by the original creator though.

Already a mod out for it in a matter of a couple days, so it was definitely just a lazy dev decision or console limitations.
Has anyone tried the mod yet? Is the mod available here on steam by any chance?
