Today, I’m showcasing a transition from one world scene to another. While it might seem simple, scene transitions are actually complex.

For example, when we run a scene in Godot, the states of objects reset upon transitioning.

Our goal is to ensure that previous scene states are retained when we return. If I cut down a tree or empty a chest in one scene, I want the changes to persist when we come back. World events, like our world clock, should also continue from the time we left the scene.

The past few weeks have been exhausting as I’ve been working on efficiently saving states between scenes. Currently, this state-saving is happening in-memory, but I plan to save states into a file soon.
