Yes, it is for sure. And next one is gonna be just as bad cause they learned they can put put garbage like this and people will still pay for it.
Well, not me anymore.
I love dead space and it never got fixed, jedi fallen order also has many issues and this one is what it is...no more EA for me.
They fixed it up as best as they could. Koboh is really the only technically "bad" area of the game for performance, and even that can be a stretch depending on how you view performance in general. I'll take some frame drops here and there over crashes or blue screens, with this game only having froze once on me early on.
Your comment is just sad.
They shouldn't have fixed it up "as best as they could", they should've put out a finished product worthy of the money they asked for...
People shielding devs and publisher for putting out garbage like this is the reason we keep getting broken games again and again...
I don't take "some frame drops" cause they don't take parts of the payment missing.
Wake up and demand for better...
Too bad because the game itself is actually very good.
No, my comment is realistic to the nature of the industry, sad or otherwise. How long have you been gaming? Cause when I was a kid, there were no such things as "patches" and "updates" we could just download. If a game on disc was broken, then it was broken and very few publishers ever put out official updates. These days, it's commonplace for updates to be rolled out regularly fixing many games that would otherwise remain broken.
So, while you can complain like you are, you can at least be happy the game was fixed up as much as it is.
Developers can and should do better these days, especially if their peers can do it.
The saddest thing is it detracts so much from the actual great experience the game could have been, with many new systems added compared to Fallen order.
We can be happy that the game has received a few updates. At least the game doesn't give the impression of actively hating you for being a PC gamer anymore when you boot it up.
That said, each update seems to have also broken something else for me. I'm probably going to give up on completing it even after powering through as much as possible and dealing with crashes, weird glitches and broken updates.
Might or might not pick it up again after I've upgraded my computer.
Dude, I'm 40 now and I've being gaming since I was 9 or 10, playing games like doom and system shock.
I know what it was like back then and it wasn't nearly as prefatory as it is nowadays with broken games filled with incentive for you to keep paying more and more with microtransactions, loot boxes and so on and so forth.
Stop being an apologist...
"You can at least be happy the game was fixed" not only is the most sucking companies' you know what but it's also flat out wrong cause the game is not fixed...
You should be ashamed of yourself...
I said "fixed up as much as it is" meaning not perfect, but not broken like it was. Nice twisting of words there.
You know what you are? You're one of those people who looks at their games through a microscope and expects absolute perfection. Hate to break it to you, but no game is bug free. Outside of a single freeze early on, and some frame drops on Koboh, Jedi Survivor has been running very well for me, way better than PS5.
Also, Jedi Survivor doesn't have any loot boxes, so I have no idea why you brought that up when talking about this game.
In a perfect world, all games would come out feature complete and as bug free as possible, but we don't live in a perfect world and never will. Vote with your wallet. If you buy at launch for full MSRP prices and you get a broken game, that's on you. I bought this title for 22 bucks on sale last week.
Also, it wasn't Respawn being the problem. It was EA.
You know what I am?
Somebody who expects my money's worth
You can go through all my post in this community and see if I keep going all over complaining about game's performance. I do when I feel like there the need to...
You know what you are?
An apologist who either don't work for your money or just are straight up a sucker for companies...
Imagine defending EA...
I haven't apologized for EA. I have simply stated the reality of the situation. Be happy it got fixed up at all, for christ sakes.
Or would you prefer the game to still be in its launch state?
I would've prefered a game fully baked before launch so we don't have to keep bagging for them to fix something we have already paid for and shouldn't have to be fixed in the first place.
As consumers we must not settle for less than this, this is the bare minimum...
And again, an unreal 4 game using up to 15GB plus of VRAM, spilling to system ram, stuttering and dropping frames consistently, with many many bugs and visual inconsistencies is far, far from fixed, and just like the Fallen order, will never get properly fixed...
I run Black Myth Wukong at cinematic settings with full RT on at 1440p DLSSQ north of 60FPS, and games science doesn't have half the funding of Respawn.
Lies of P is an UE4 game that runs like a dream.
I can give you many many examples of devs deserving of my money.
I love Star Wars and Disney along side with EA have being tarnishing the name of this franchise.
I also would have preferred the game to be running as well as God of War Ragnarok, but that didn't happen.
Where is this 15 gigs of VRAM? Maybe with RT on and 4K resolution, but at 1440p my 12 gig 4070 Super doesn't max out the buffer.
Lies of P is also a much smaller gamer in terms of scope with many times less moving parts, and that developer was given ample time to finish their product, same with Game Science and BMW. The blame here is on EA, not Respawn.
And yes, 15GB plus of VRAM and 29GB of RAM
I play with RTSS on to check temps and track my RAM, VRAM, CPU and GPU usage and voltage.
Yes, I sort of agree that EA is the main problem but as far as I know Respawn got a blank check to make this game after they did Fallen Order, and as I said, not only they never fixed Fallen Order, but they went ahead and put out this game in a far worse state.
Lies of P is indeed a smaller game but BMW is not, is on par if not even bigger.
Also, the studio of Ferris ( if I'm not getting his name wrong ), the guy who put out it takes two is also under EA and not only his games are very very good, but they also run flawlessly.
The argument you can again make is that his games are smaller too, but the variety of different mechanics in his games are way bigger than what you can find in Survivor, with mechanics you use once and never go back to it again.
And also, the argument of survivor being a bigger game only goes to show that bigger is definitely not better...
