Help! game stutters after upgrading monitor
So basically i was previously playing the game at 1080p, and after i recently bought and upgraded my monitor to 1440p, the game stutters like hell! I can't play normally as it stutters every single second of the game and what makes me so confused is this is just a monitor upgrade. Anyone else familiar with this issue? My rig specs follows:

i5-11400f
16gb 3200mhz (dual channel)
Asus tuf b450m
RTX 3070
256gb Samsung 980 pro NVME
1tb Samsung 980 pro NVME

If you increased your resolution that also increased your Vram usage, 3070 while rly good GPU it only have 8gb of Vram, so try to lower your texture settings to high or medium or try to use DLSS and see what works best for you

1. Is your Windows display settings at 1440p?
2. Any other affected games or applications?
3. Advanced display setttings, ensure you have the correct refresh rate listed, edit if needed.

You may need to delete the game's settings file. Or it can be altered out of game.

C:\Users\YOUR PC USER NAME\AppData\Local\SwGame\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor
Another way to get there
WIN key + R > %APPDATA%

If its your entire computer then I would just run DDU and reset graphics to defaults, and reinstall the Nividia drivers fresh.

DDU = display driver uninstaller if you dont know.

just a quick update, i have done usiing DDU to remove my existing driver and re-install a fresh one, but issue still remains, the game still is very lag and literally every second freezes. I have re-installed the game too, but then its still the same. I've noticed that the game uses almost 100% of my system ram, is this just me? or others are experiencing the same problem?

At the least the issue is getting narrowed down, thats good.

Ok.

1. Open task manager while the memory is at 100%. Any other applications contributing to high usage?
2. May not be a bad idea to check startup apps and deactivate anything not critical like Nvidia drivers, peripheral controls like Logitech controls, etc.
3. Do you use an AV like Norton or Mcafee? Those are known resource hogs.

Try to determine if its just the game or a set of apps contributing.

Have you kept the same settings, At what refresh rate is your monitor. Maybe you just pushing too far. What settings are you playing, and what is your fps average? And this game is very stuttering.....

my monitor is q27g2se with 155hz, i have g-sync on in my monitor, but gsync off in game, and yes i have kept the same settings in medium with FSR on quality. same problem still persists unfortunately.

from video I saw, 1440p barely run 60 fps at epic. No RT of course ( hope you didnt try to turn on, cuz thats your problem right there) It should run a bit higher on medium settings. Do you have any OC in your system?

It is what it is. I even tried to help by providing a few ways to narrow down where the ram issue is coming from. Maybe its just too many active applicationsz. Shrugs

Jedi Survivor uses around 12-13gb VRAM at 1440p. He most likely use same setting but with increased resolution that is why he have all of his RAM used. His VRAM is most likely at 6.8GB and 7.4GB and the rest of 5GB is used but system RAM that is why his game stutter. So he should either lower resolution to 1080p or lower texture quality to medium.

I'm not sure why other people are telling you to make changes to configs, drivers, etc........If it worked fine before and all you changed was the monitor, then it's because your video card doesn't have enough vram to play at 1440p and the graphic settings you have selected in game. There is no fix for that other than getting a card that has more vram or attempt to lower vram usage by adjusting in game settings that use VRAM like textures. The game uses more than 8 gigs vram at 1440p typically. You could also lower the resolution in game, but it's probably going to look blurry to some extent not playing at native 1440p resolution

Thank you for your response sir, but i actually have tried to revert back the resolution back to 1080p after i noticed this stuttering problems, and even lowered all settings to lowest and the stuttering actually still there. I have the FSR at balanced and vsync and ray tracing are turned off, But the stuttering is actually still there and it makes the game totally unplayable.
